did you spray brake cleaner on the rotors to get the oil off them?
If its only under hard braking and all else is ok I’d check your tire pressures.
If its all the time, bleed the lines on the left side and check for smooth movement on the slide pin and pistons. Its not much to take the caliper off and see if they are retracting easily.
Edit:
2nd on the did you clean the rotors before installing them? Anyways since you (should) are taking the calipers off just hit the pads with 60-ish grit sandpaper to freshen them up.
how many miles are on the car?wouldn’t subaru warranty the brakes anyways
Hey guys,
Sorry I haven’t posted, just haven’t had time to take them apart. THey are a MOTHER fucker to put back together (the clips that hold the pads in SUCK)
I DID use brake cleaner to get the oil off the rotors.
I THINK the problem is, when i did the right side rotors and pads, I wire brushed the slides and greased them. I forgot to do it to the driver side though :picard:
The car only has 10K miles on it, I’m taking it to my grandpas place today so I’ll see if they can look at it, I was putting differnt springs in, got the fronts done, went to do the back and stripped a nut
I called subaru and told them my brakes were really loud and played dumb, the service manager was like…well your car has 10k miles on it and you already went through pads? he LOL’ed and was like, there is no way we are covering that under warranty, it’s due to aggressive driving.
I came back with
“well, the wrx is advertised as a sports car, so I figured it can handle some aggressive braking from time to time, guess not”
haha, the brake line was kinked.
easy fix
aka i twisted the hose when i put the caliper back on
haha :word:
