My car VW 1.8T from the factory uses 5w40 and that’s what I run in it. I know there is a 0w40 out there as well, never tried it.
$10 a quart for oil is too rich for my blood.
I’ll stick with a quality 5w30 dino.
I havent looked at the price of most synth, but I know that Mobil(whats recomended for my car) is now the same price as Royal purpal a quart(RP was always so much mor eexpensive). Not a shock consindering the price of gas now days.
That’s not completely true. Synthetic oil has additives in it to reduce friction and disperse heat. It also does not break down as fast under hard driving. I would never trust any oil in my car for 10k or 20k.

thats you, but its perfectly safe to run oil far past 10K as long as you monitor it and use the intervals, AMSOIL says 25K or a year. I will reach my year mark before I get to 25K…
