I have a friend looking for a new car, looking to spend up to $15k. Pretty wide open. He prefers smaller cars, it doesn’t need to be fast, or interesting. Just reliable. He’d prefer something CPO’d so he ends up with some more warranty, would prefer newer with fewer miles. Biggest concern is reliability.
Thoughts?
He asked me about Mazda3s today, found a few that had under 10k miles, for $15k that were “certified” to 100k/7yrs. Don’t know much about Mazda’s certified pre owned program though.
not that this fits any of his requirements but he could put in a bid at 15K and see if he gets it. 2010 taurus with salvage title. super comfy definitely not a small econo box but if he could get it for 15K that would kick ass.
Small, not fast, not interesting, but reliable led me straight to the Corolla. If you can’t get one certified pre-owned, get a good aftermarket warranty with it or add mechanical breakdown insurance to your car insurance.
i was thinking that too. what amount of “light damage” would total a 27K+ car BUUUUUT it would be pretty nice to cruise around in for that kind of scratch IF it was fixed up right. I really wonder what the story is on that car. Maybe it was minor damage and since it was brand new the owner was bitching and screaming he wanted a NEW car not a repaired car with 1300miles on it. I’m not going to say its a pimp car by any means but if it could be had for 15K it is a awesome deal and its a NEW car.
throw some wheels on it and you could have this
or pay more and have this
problem is the taurus fits NONE of the OP’s needs. just a random find.
edit: is it possible it would have a salvage title if it was lemon law deal?
