A 383 is a 350 block (4" bore) with a 400 (3.75" stroke) crank. A stock 350 has 3.48" stroke. A 305 has the same 3.48" stroke, but a 3.75" bore (or something close).

Chevrolet built around 90,000,000 small blocks since 1955. You should have no problem finding what you want.
