thought about asking him…
ive seen articles of type-r swapped ones. and they are useless for traction in lower gears, a turbo one would just be down right stupid. only way it might hook up is a mid engine/rear drive setup. but that just ruins the car.
with 170whp, this car would really scream. looks nice. keep it up.
I always wanted a Mini with a GSXR Busa motor swap. If you want to do an intercooled turbo setup I have seen one done in a Shelby Cobra Replica where they used an AC system for a Air to 134a IC! They saved a lot of space and achieved below ambient intake temps which out weighed the parasitic drag.
Thanks! I agree that the nearly stock B16 that I have will be more than enough to roast those little 175 R13 tires! If I want more power I’ll figoure it out after the car’s been road tested.
Also, I DO have a budget in mind… There’s over 25 grand in the car now though. Check out the awesome cage work! I had a race car fabricator in Pittsfield Mass do it. Tied the front & rear subframes together for a seriously rigid chassis. He added outriggers to the front subframe to keep the downtubes from crowding the foot-wells. There is NO room in these cars for a cage unless you really work to make it fit.
