Basics:
1978 Honda Civic CVCC (1.5L)
5-Speed
85k-ish Miles
Pittsburgh, PA (no delivery option right now)
$1600, trades considered
Pros:
>Starts, runs, drives
>“Deluxe gauge” set (temp and fuel factory mounted on dash)
>Black interior is in very decent shape
>little rust (clean for northeast at this age but is a driver, will never be a show car)
>Wheels re finished
>Tires have <500 miles on them
>New brake master cylinder, front calipers/pads, and rear wheel cylinders
Cons:
> P.O. put a quarter-sized hole in the driver door near mirror (fresh factory mirror included and now attached)
> Driver rear fender took a ding at the very back/bottom some time in the past 35 years
> Paint is just overall tired
> No radio
> As shown in photo, at some point a P.O. decided to patch what I’m guessing were failure-to-drain-standing-water rust holes in the upper firewall corners - looks like hell
> P.O. broke the choke cable so it needs a new one run (OEM cable assembly included)
> Not currently inspected
The Rest:
This car is just what you see. Tons of character and the issues you might expect from a vehicle that was just “basic transportation” for probably its entire life. I’m trying to include the bad pictures as much as the glamour shots because I don’t want someone thinking this is a cream puff. As I noted I’ve refinished the wheels, put fresh tires on, and new brake parts. Headlight buckets were cleaned up, grille was re-blacked, and front bumper was tucked into the body. Recently developed a small fuel leak in the back that I haven’t had a chance to look at - inspection mechanic said it will take a sticker if that is fixed. I have considerably more than $1600 into it but I’m not driving it and tired of it sitting around.
