1978 Honda Civic CVCC

So few of these cool little old simple Honda’s out there, don’t ruin it!

Just registered for a spot at Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next month if anyone is coming down and wants to see this in person.

interesting car.

The first thing I thought of was police academy.

Back from Vintage Grand Prix bump. I tucked the front bumper about 2 inches to reduce its bookshelf status as shown in the photo below. Car can now be seen commuting me to work in downtown Pittsburgh…

Bump. This is back out at my shop for the winter but I’d prefer the work space. Would consider partial trade for a motorcycle + $.

I know I’m the 30th person to say it… but this thing is so damn cool.

Still have this.

Bump for some new pictures.

Had the car running and driving around a bit over the weekend, no real status change although I think it’s running a little rich now, which just re-emphasizes the need for a carb rebuild (or a Weber swap for much improved drive-ability). You can see I removed the sloppy cover-up of the rust at the top of the front fenders, so it’s uglier but more honest. There is no evidence that there is any kind of structural problem or that the rust is spreading outward, as it seems like it was probably patched quite a few years back.

Car still needs general sorting…wouldn’t hurt to give it new belts, valve adjustment, etc., but it drives as-is. I’m getting married and have other bigger projects so would like to move this along. I’ll even include the super limited time bonus offer of the 2013 Vintage Grand Prix dash card for the new owner since this car was entered in the Display area last year.

Bump. I’ll likely drive this to the Vintage Grand Prix again this year. :pedo1:

Zombie bump. Didn’t really get to drive this during the summer and I need to move on. Just dusted it off and put a healthier factory replacement carb on it to improve idling/response. Still needs a choke cable to ease starting and I noticed a small fuel leak in the back - didn’t get to diagnose that. I’d really like to say goodbye and my inspection mechanic said it would take a PA sticker with the fuel leak cleared up. Come get your winter project.

Location edit: Car is now further north in Butler, PA (16001) and being stored at my inspection mechanic’s shop.
