This car has alot of possibilities. It seems like the perfect project car to me.
i know alot about them, first 5 speed i ever drove was a 1981 GT coupe.
the 20R is a VERY SOLID engine, 7MGTE’s swap in pretty easy(mk3 turbo engine)
paul dont be stupid. keep the blood lines correct. 1UZ-FE swap if anything(toyota V8)
i wouldnt buy a lift back, and id get a 78-79 GT coupe. 4 round lights, same 20R and dream of doing a 1J/2J swap.
Too much work dropping in a late model Toyota V8. And theyre probably not cheap. You could drop in a running 350 (stock from a junkyard) and have about $1000 into the car.
Im all for keeping the same brand engine in the car when it comes to domestics but with imports its ok to cross the line.
