very nice. Out of curiosity did you find this locally? I ask because about a year ago I tailed one going through the exit 24 booths that had a FS sign in the rear with a phone number. I called it while behind the car in the booths and got him to pull over in the truck turnaround area. That car was super clean and looked just like this aside from the wheels AFAIR. Wanted a bit too much for it so I never made a deal.
I miss my old MK2 golf. Thing was a riot to bomb around in despite it being a total POS. Great find for sure here 
The kid drove it out from NH. He got it shipped to him from SC last May. I have heard there was a clean one like mine for sale near saugerties

I’d like to do something eventually. Idk what yet. I like the 2 liter swap. Whatever i do i need to swap tranny. This stock gearbox from 1983 is rediculous. Gears are so close. I’ve launched in 3rd like 5 times smh
Id leave this thing totally stock and show it. Its too clean to hack up with motor swaps and shit like that

I had an 83 gti just like that 15 years ago. Fun car, I liked the short gears. Glad to see one so clean.
