wiring looks pretty straightforward. you have the schematic…
taking a quick peek it seems you would need to bypass the gear indicator/neutral light

Or just leave those LED’s on a small panel…
however you want to close the circuit after removing the gauge cluster, be it leds or just a connection.
street tracker style don’t look so bad either…
x2, the gauges on that bike are frightening, but I wouldn’t say all bikes have bad gages, the ones that are molded into the bike like a car look great, any open air ones like above are horrendous
IMO there is nothing wrong with old school 70’s era circlular gauge pods, but that’s just me.
I’m going without gauges on my current project. :snky:
The only thing I need gauges for are when I’m wheeling down the street fucking bitches on my passenger seat. I turn around and check my speed, “Oh, 120 mph?” That’s a quick fuck.
I like circular gauges. I only said they weren’t needed because he said he was building a “naked bike”… to me that means anything that isn’t necessary is removed.
^ I agree.
There’s really no point for gauges, either you’re going the speed of traffic or you’re speeding.
As far as tach goes, if you need a gauge to tell you when to shift, you haven’t been riding long enough to be building a bike.
any legalities with passing inspection from not having a speedo?
Who the hell gets their bikes inspected in NYS?
As far as I can tell it just needs to have lights, blikers, mirror, and a horn to pass inspection http://ypdcrime.com/vt/article9.htm#t381.
nice flying brick! Am I crazy for liking the black crinkle paint on the tank?
1.5" spacers are in my car, just have to chuck them in the lathe and drill them out. then i can slide the front forks up. gauge cluster will be moved down when i actually have the headlight (my buddy wasnt around this weekend)
You can internally lower the forks so that they don’t stick through. FYI.
wouldnt know how to do that. this is my first bike and i have yet to see any mention of it on the k75 / k100 forums
If you take them apart it should be pretty straightforward. Even simpler, you can just cut the fork springs.
^ I like that one a lot.
I’m really digging those tires. I think my next bike will be one of these, so bad ass
