Hey, the popup headlights for my car seem to not work really… but… they do rise up when either the headlights turn on or i press the button. But when i press the button for them to go down they do not go down. I have checked the fuses and they all seem okay. To get them down i have to manually turn each of the motor type things to make them go down.
If anyone could help me it would be really appreciated because i have tried for a while to figure out what the problem is.

check the relays under the hood on the left side it should be headlight rec con

Also, I spoke with your Father, pull out the botton and check to see if the wires were tampered with buy the previous owner. It probably isn’t that, but he may have fucked that up trying to due a sleepy eye mod.

i think ive witnessed 2-3 other people with this problem.
none of them have been able to fix it.

NICO club is a better place for DIY repairs and info… they supply step by step guides with photos so try this out, hope it helps.

are the contacts worn out? did you check both relays? ones under intake box, the others by the battery
My headlights neither went up or down, beside manually, so i got fed up and went silvia
take out the manual button, see if the brown wire or any wire is tampered with, sometimes people do that as a cheap sleepy eye, which was mentioned earlier. good luck
Okay, we’ve fixed this problem. It wasnt the relays because they worked fine and we checked all them and they had power going to them. None of the wires were cut or tampered with. The motors worked because they still went up and down so they were not replaced. All i did was put a wire from the positive & negative of the hl ret down to prettymuch bypass it and when i turn my headlights on/off they go up/down as wanted :D, & it draws limited power from the battery so it is fine. It works for now and makes me happy lol so im keeping it like this untill i figure out how to 100% fix this problem. lol
Easy fix, scan for nico club forums, they have guidethreads so its easy step by step way of checking… theres a few but ill post the common and quick fix/diagnostic ones.
