WAIC all I have to say…
Not really ill say more. not only can it fit anywhere under the hood, the IC piping is super short and direct, less bends and lenght the better it is flow wise.
Everyone said WAIC on a daily is stupid when i did it on my jetta BT build. Proved them wrong. I have a 3 gal alum res tank in the trunk, the bosh water pump, 5/8" hose and a nice big heat exchanger in the front and spend $250 on the IC itself. total cost in parts was around $650 if i remember correctly and I used a high end exchanger and the pump.
I did some testing, 3rd gear pulls the IAT is almost flat… I romped on it back and forth down my test road, made about 4 hotlap passes and the temps hardly moved. I will have to dig up the data I had to find the real numbers, but it blew away my FMIC iats on my older hair dryer sized turbo, which created alot of heat.
With a big enough res and enough water in the system, the heat exchanger will wick heat out just about as fast as your turbo puts in, so as long as your not racing the daytona 500 with it, you will be efficient.
i hear ya, never said anything wrong about your setup, i personally would’ve done a garrett/pte600 core in your case and i was going to keep the car i would’ve done the same, but obviously i didn’t and moved onto to a different platform.
