ehh…
WTF does that mean, hmmm???
looking sick buddy!
He says hmmm cause his vr sucks
lol
where did i say hmmm?
does the VR in a Corrado always lean like dem franchise boyz?
evrything looks good minus that FMIc, its gonna heat up QUICK. you are gonna be leaving alot of power on the table with that.
all vr’s are tilted like crazy just more noticeable with the front end off.
Please explain why
heres a log of my car with the 30R on 15 psi with a 3rd gear pull, look how fast the IAT’s climbed
iat’s go up, timing gets pulled, power is lost.
i had a small shitty core aswell.
yah that intercooler is tiny…
We already had this conversation before. I thought you were talking about where it’s mounted.
I have some of the parts listed previously in this thread but here is a full parts list:
Turbo, Manifold and Wastegate came from the Kinetic Stage 1 kit.
OBDII VR6 with harness and ECU - From the Passat
C2 42# software
42# injectors
c2 head spacer (8.5:1)
OE head gasket
SouthBend OFE SS Stage 4 Clutch
Walbro 255LPH
Intercooler
Intercooler Piping
Timing Chains
Head Bolts
4" MAF Housing
10psi and 6psi spring for the TiAL 38mm
Forge 007 DV
Low Temp Thermostat
New OE Coolant Pipe, Thermostat housing and Adapter
Came from the previous Build:
268 TT Cams
BFI .5 Motor Mounts
TDI 5th Gear
Peloquin LSD
Slim Fans
Spent 70+ hours troubleshooting the wiring and finally got it running on Friday. There is a bad O2 and cps which are in the mail. Even running pig rich, and only 10psi (wastegate problems) the car is semi uncontrollable.
I’ll prolly be going to get another dyno run from Moon and compare the difference. Should be in the realm of 350-400whp on 16-18psi.
i love wiring
WAIC all I have to say…
Not really ill say more. not only can it fit anywhere under the hood, the IC piping is super short and direct, less bends and lenght the better it is flow wise.
Everyone said WAIC on a daily is stupid when i did it on my jetta BT build. Proved them wrong. I have a 3 gal alum res tank in the trunk, the bosh water pump, 5/8" hose and a nice big heat exchanger in the front and spend $250 on the IC itself. total cost in parts was around $650 if i remember correctly and I used a high end exchanger and the pump.
I did some testing, 3rd gear pulls the IAT is almost flat… I romped on it back and forth down my test road, made about 4 hotlap passes and the temps hardly moved. I will have to dig up the data I had to find the real numbers, but it blew away my FMIC iats on my older hair dryer sized turbo, which created alot of heat.
With a big enough res and enough water in the system, the heat exchanger will wick heat out just about as fast as your turbo puts in, so as long as your not racing the daytona 500 with it, you will be efficient.
Great to hear man!!! post some vids when it on the rollers.
i hear ya, never said anything wrong about your setup, i personally would’ve done a garrett/pte600 core in your case and i was going to keep the car i would’ve done the same, but obviously i didn’t and moved onto to a different platform.
your last FMIC was also a piece of garbage, lets not forget that part of the equation. dont know what to say, my Garrett core was great. i did 5 passes at the track, within 20minutes of the start and ending of the 1st and 5th run and my TRAP INCREASED, same boost levels on every run. ET was pretty consistant as well.
