1994 Chev S10 Back Sliding Window Question

My friend has an S10 and the back sliding window was smashed out.
One person told us that you can just buy the sliding window and install it
and another person told us you can’t do that and you need to buy a whole new back window with the sliding piece already in it.
Does anybody know if you actually can just get a new sliding window and put it back in?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

I’d call a lot of junkyards and see what they can do. I heard from my gm/chevy truck friends that gm will insanely high prices for parts and even if he can get the single window, it’ll cost a fortune at a dealership.

One of my friends just got a whole passenger side of a truck bed from a place called A1 trunk parts (780-465-6155, 3315 64 Avenue NW) and they seemed to be very helpful and friendly. Give them a call, they only do trucks and suv’s they’d probably have a good idea.

While your out there could you stop by Matts Auto and check for some hardbodys  3165 64 Ave NW

I asked the guy at A1 (its right beside it) and he said Matt’s was closed down.

Well Some lady at a glass shop said that we can’t go take one out of a truck from the wreckers
because she said there is no way we could get it out with all the molding and everything still in one piece.
Does anyone on here work at a glass shop?

doesn’t surprise me. that place was shit.
