1997 Nissan 240sx LE [w/S15 drivetrain]

Hi all,
I’ve taken the ‘big’ decision to sell my baby. Not easy, not easy! :frowning:
Reason for sale: I travel a lot for my work and don’t have the time to make good use of it. (drove less than 4000km this summer) Therefore would prefer to have money in the bank rather than it sleep in a garage.

I built the car with the intention to keep it, so you won’t find any cheap parts on it. I’ve invested so much time and money…hopefully this car will make someone as happy as I was when I could use it. I’m the 3rd owner and it has been garaged since 2003, no winters since 7 years (unknown before that)

What makes this car unique?

  • It is the rare kouki model, in mint condition
  • Has a complete 2002 Silvia S15 SpecR drivetrain from Japan (engine, transmission, driveshaft, rear subframe with HLSD) and brakes. When purchased in 2005, had only 6854km. I have pictures that backup this mileage.

Most of the work has been done by me, some friends and some very well known mechanics in the Montreal area (JR from Camo; Haig from Automotion; Robin from Almasi). Feel free to ask any of those guys about the condition of this car!

Been to the track only 4 times:
1 x Mecaglisse (lapping)
2 x Drift Practice in St Eustache
1 x Drag - 7 runs - best = 13.6 @ 107 with current setup and street tires

Basically you’d be getting the utmost reliable clean s14 with the newest engine possible for a Silvia. I drove this car 27hours straight to Florida 5 days after I finished the swap! So reliability is not a question I need to answer!

This car looks really nice… Seems like an awesome price considering all the parts and labour that must have been invested…

Good luck on the sale

very decent price considering this list of mods. i didn’t read everything thats listed. lol

better priced than majority of the kouki’s we see for sale.

beautiful car!.. priced well 2!

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. - as for the price, I must remain realistic and accept to lose, this is definitely not a win-win situation, but I’m trying to make the most of it.

good price wish i had the money… gl on sale too

I’m flexible, make your offers and we’ll see…I’d like to see it go before winter, if not it might make me keep the car. lol

New Price : $16,250

your description says you’ve drifted in it. whats your opinion on the HLSD for drifting?

interesting… S15 drivetrain nice… how’s the 6speed on it?

was always wondering if anyone did an S15 SR swap in their s14… i like 6 speed… esp on highway

seems like a sweet deal… i would jump on this if i still wanted an S14…

wow, i am very jealous to the guy that buys this S14. good deal.

Esp since its been stored for like 3/4 of its lifetime.
I would gladly sell mine, and buy this one. wow

good luck with sale!

i hope the person that buys it, will actually drift it, so we can see more S14s on the track instead of S13s (no offense to s13 drivers)

To answer DYMO’s question, I’ve drifted it twice and I’m not a professional drifter…the best comparison I can say compared to the VLSD is a quicker and more stable/predictable lock.

xtngshZ… the 6-speed is great. You manage to be at about 200rpms lower at about 120km/h…if I remember correctly. You get greater fuel economy and overall shorter gears. I’ve had no issues with it and I have stock clutch…really love it!

Many people say drift it and others say ‘what are you doing drifting that car, becareful not to smash it’… I’ve been very careful at the drift practices I’ve been to. Bottom line…whatever you do with the car you should enjoy it the way you want to…some are just a little more hardcore than others!

Not many offers other than lowball…so I might end up keeping her another year at least!

Thanks for your comments!
