1999 Oldsmobile Alero GLS

I am posting this for a good friend of mine. The car is currently NOT running (See Below). Price is $1,000 OBO due to the fact this thing is near mint. Comparable cars are for sale in the $4-5k range if you can find one this clean. Some minor motor work is needed but this car is easily a 10/10 for a 15 year old car minus some grime in the engine bay. Call Doug and tell him Luke sent you.

Approximately 140K miles, exterior is in very good condition, originally a Pennsylvania car, treated by Rust-Stop annually, undercarriage is in excellent condition.

No check engine light prior to breakdown.

No drive train problems, rode perfect prior to breakdown.

Does not need brakes, rotors, or shocks. Entire exhaust system is perfect.

Tires are OK, but worn. Would need new tires for next season snowfall.

Battery has been removed.

Stored in garage since December 2013.

Clean title.

Why the car is not running

The car lost power while driving one day. It was attributed to a Broken camshaft. The Engine did NOT lose any oil. The Engine was disassembled down to lower intake manifold, major parts removed were set back in place on the engine block, all other parts are in the trunk, nothing discarded or broken during removal. It is suggested to replace the LIM and UIM gaskets with the engine is in this state (I have a brand new Fel-Pro set for the engine if needed). In fact, that was what was originally the thought as to why it quit as these motor are prone to LIM/UIM failure. The engine is the 3400 V6 (3.4L LA1).

This car can be put back together for far less that what a comparable car is selling for. Since this car is not needed my loss is your gain.

Serious inquiries only. You are welcome to stop by and look at the car.

???

Because you had an Alero before GV1390 was even around the car scene

Is this “Juice’s” car?

3 years older than me is such a big difference! Want a gingersnap for being old? #Troll

GLWS Luke!

No. He had the same car but that thing put a bullet in it brain a while ago. This is Hooper’s.

As Darksyde pointed out (Thank you sir) it has the 3400 V6.

Not sure if I missed it but is this car in the buffalo area? I know you said its from PA…

It is sort of (drop down list above for near Buffalo)…the car is in South Wales.
