1STGEN's scirocco

I only said it because mine has the fluid transfer tube on one end and the bleeders on the other.

Mine too. I noticed the same thing on Jon’s Wilwoods so just figured Tom’s were the same deal. I guess it’s useful in draining the caliper before you disconnect lines too.

Thats right…we roll tough…

some new interior shots…

What gauges did you give in and buy?

And what did they have to pay you to get into a suit?

Liquid filled pro-comps…oil pressure(very important) LOL and water temp with ether capillary tube. Very accurate and vibration resistant.
Nothing actually…buddies wedding…ya know.
Finished head last night, just have to assemble motor and reinstall. All piping, plumbing and motor mount fab is done, Rebuilt K03 turbo, etc etc. Should be ready to go by pocono in april.

Tiiiiiitttsss. 300whp of wheel hopping tire spinning POWA.

raaaaaa babababababababaa raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

True and way true…I hear popcorn popping.

Gauges look good. Those are the ones Im looking for too. oil pressure, oil temp, and vacuum(or maybe coolant temp)

Tilton brake bias knob? You running a bias valve or a super tits tilton pedal box?

Oh and BTW…what are the wheels you have on your car there? If I’m gonna have a fighting chance of ever attending an event I’ve got to get some 16-17" wheels and tires. I don’t think 205/65-15 studded snows are a proper tarmac tire. Those wheels look pretty cool and might want to find a set for the WRX, or get TD tarmac wheels.

Gauges? This is unheard of in Scirocco land. This build is getting serious!

And I want to see this new sensor setup. I gathered all the info for the other way too.

I have the wilwood pedal for brake, there is a cable attached to the knob that rotates the arm on the pedal…changing the bias front to rear. I was using 15x8’s with a 20mm offset, with 225 rubber, I am now going to a 16x8 with 0mm offset and 245 rubber. XXR rims

Lawler…I am going to have pictures saturday of the trigger wheel set-up. Have to go see Morgan to have some aluminum pieces welded up.

What tires are you running this year?

Thinking of running the R6 but not too sure of cost vs wear…Hankook also makes the ventus slick in a 245 45 16. So probably those due to the 100 dollars less a tire

Nitto has the Nt01 in a 245-50-16 for $175 ea
( I was thinking of it for my 16 inch wheels when the V710’s wear out)

Do you think that is too tall a sidewall.

R6 = fast for one event, then they fall off and do bizarre stuff to your cars handling. Do not recommend for that purpose. Same with those Hankooks. The Toyos and Nittos are the only tires that stay moderately consistently throughout most of their life.

I was going to shy away from the 50 profiles. The side wall might flex a bunch under heavy load. But then again those tires should be stiff as hell.

Hence the list of toyo’s and hankooks…LOL I think the toyo and hankook are pretty damn good tires anyway so it shouldn’t really matter. Dont know how they cycle out though. Mickey destroys tires the first time he uses them so he’s not a good representation of the hankook.

You mean Nittos not Kooks? Word. We ran the NT01s for super long stints during the VIR 13hr and then one of the crew used them as practice tires after that. They are fastest when new, like any tire, but they are at least drivable afterwards.

Count your heat cycles and measure when they start falling off and throwing off your handling. Obviously it’ll change. I’ve had sets of Hankooks that are fall of hard after 8 heat cycles and are trash after 12, I’ve had sets of the same Hankooks that fall off hard after 12 HCs and are trash at 20.

Mickey runs Hohos way way beyond the point of no return. :lol
