2 10's in my s10 overkill?

Ive hit 149 db on a radio shack db meter at the dash, with 2 12’s.

radio shack doesnt know what a db meter is by me lol what kinda 12s where they? i have 2 3500 series DDs but never got to run them on a meter they where louder than the 10s for sure

man this was a big worry but now moved to the least of them. my truck was supposed to go get registered today but the title is from outta state and im the 4th owner and none of the ones before the first owner registered in the state so im screwed until they all fix the title if we can get ahold of the previous 3 owners. FUCK

i had to do something like that with my integra 9 calls to NC and $200 later it was worth it tho

MTX cheapos, was a b-day present from my mom

a nice teg would always be worth an extra 200 dollars, they have alot of potential.

too bad this is only an s10 but luckily the bitch who fucked me over is taking care of the money and all the damn issues. she should pay for it since she was the incompetent bitch who messed up in the 1st place

i have one buddy with 2 15’s in his ranger and it pounds sounds good
then one of my buddys dads has a S10 with 2 12 Punch P2’s and that truck pounds too
i dont hink its over kill just hook it up right and get a nice amp

not bad i almost got taken out buy a festia at the last bass off
i thought it was a joke they hit 144.3 lol i was like WTF!

mehh dB’s and SPL comps are fun and all, but Id much rather have something I can listen to everyday, and somethin in which sound great doing it. dB is just a bonus. Ive got 2 12"s in which they are considered SQL subs, and without having set the gains right, I was hitting 144.5dB.

Just get something thats going to sound good. Then if you want worry about SPL later on.

ya that comp was me driving by rolling off the street and peir pressured into comp. then i won lol

Oh yeah, well my friend’s system is really loud.

He put in a flux capacitor he got on ebay for $20 with a warranty and now he hits 210.
But he can’t come to a sound off because the hobbit that spins the cds gets depressed and needs therapy.
There’s also the haunted air conditioner. And if he hits over 155 he’ll go back in time.
But the web said if he puts in a class D amp, with a class U, a class M, class B, class A and two class S amps instead of running the subs off the radio it should keep the capacitors in phase with the capacitators and stop the time travel.
And the web also said that I’ll increase 3 DB if I start my sentences with conjuctions like and, and but

that was from hardcor audio lol all the dumb ppl

yes that was a joke cuz i know some people dont know what im talking about when i say my car has a aftermarket deck and it dont mow lawns

REALLY? aw man i thought you coulda mowed my lawn all summer in that baby :stuck_out_tongue:

You obviously are very novice, and and don’t know enough about SPL to Advise someone on their set-up. If you think a festiva is a poor SPl car you are wayyyy off, they are one of the best of all time (about all they are good for). And if you think 144.3 is loud you are a joke too. No respect here until you break 150 and it’s not all distortion. Not meaning to put you down but your SPl advise is way off.

Theres sooooo much to putting together an SPL system that really is impossible to know every aspect.

i know that was my first sound off if you would have read thanks lol… respect i sold all my stuff i got a deck now that about it and the dds would hit low 150s easy if i would have finshed the set up. i had all the stuff but this school bullshit screwed me over
2 3500 series DD large vented box
2 hifonics 1200w @ 1 ohm class D amps
1 kinitic power cell
2ga + - wires
eclipse CD5000 deck 5v pre amp
fuck i shouldnt have sold that shit so cheap

um. excuse me… what language was that in? lol

lol i have a $300 set of subs in my trunk of my buick with no mats or anything. They kick plenty hard and clean for my daily use and according to radio shacks db meter. 149 baby.

2 10in subs in a standard cab S10 will be just fine. Just dont go cranking the bass up all the way and leave change in the cupholder. I have 2 MA Audio 10s with a MA Audio 400 watt amp and it sounds good, not a single rattle or any distortion. I plan on adding the other MA Audio 400 watt amp i have and using 1 amp per sub.
