2.5 Vs 3" FMIC piping

Im changing my FMIC piping to aluminum because its cheaper than getting my current piping chromed or jet hot coated… sooo

since im changing it i was wondering if it would be a good idea to up the size of it

currently im running 2.5" intercooler piping, but i was thiking of switching to 3" there is only a 25 dollar differance total for the upsize, would i see any change in performance either way?

my new FMIC is 3" in and out and my new TB has a 65mm inlet which is like 2.8 in

how much air are You moving?

10 lbs/min? no.

140 lbs/min? yes.

and so on…

gt35R gonna run about 350ish for daily driver then UB3R boost on the dyno

3" seems like overkill for 350whp, imo.

yeah. it’s all about the CFMs. I don’t think you will push enough air to require 3"

viper, figure out the area, you will see that 3" is huge and way too big for your app.

have you picked up forced induction tuning yet? if not you should and read through it. theres a lot of good info that will help you with this project. mike (innovative) would also suggest this book.

ive read through maximum boost like 400 times cuz i kept it on the shitter

OMG yes 1/2" = 50FWHP
