Race Car Engineer - Engineering in the Fast Lane

Skip Barber Racing School has an immediate opening for a Race Car Engineer.

This highly visible position has the responsibility to design, develop, test and document technical solutions for our car fleet.

The successful candidate will have “hands-on” experience such as FSAE or Mini-Baja, BS in Mechanical Engineering; understand the complexities of vehicle dynamics; racing; the mechanics of the car; as well as the math and CAD skills necessary to analyze and document.

Utilizing excellent oral and written communication skills the engineer will work in synch with Shop Manager, and Field Operations to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and support continuous improvement:
Qualifications:

* BS in Mechanical Engineering
* Experienced in automotive or Motorsports industry
* Thorough understanding of the vehicle from design to vehicle dynamics:
      o Car handling – suspension, aero performance,
      o Data logging systems electronics and computer systems.
      o Complete understanding and knowledge of race engines and gearboxes plus engine management systems.
* Familiarity with supply chain, best practices, inventory control, lean principals and vendor selection criterion.
* Proficient in Solidworks, CAD or similar computer software programs
* Demonstrated record of increasing leadership responsibility
