2-Post Lift; Height Needed?

So how much ceiling height is needed for your typical 2-post lift?

The house I may rent starting next month has large toy storage/shop area bay, 1.5 car wide, 2+ car deep; and the whole garage has at least 10’ if not 12+’ ceilings. This in addition to a 2.5 car main garage. :tspry:

12’5" for a normal lift or as short as 9’ for a smaller lift

My old man just put one in his garage. The area above the garage is just storage area so he chopped two holes in the ceiling and up she went. Sticks about 2 feet up through the 2nd level floor.

My 12.5 ceilings are fine, its only a problem with tall stuff, conversion vans ect.

So from the sounds of it I should start keeping my eyes open for a lift. That’ll be nice to have finally. Now I just gotta pray we get good news tomorrow, 98% sure we got it, they just needed to verify a few things (Credit, background, income, etc).

This also means the resurrection from the ashes can begin this fall.

I’m ready for a road trip from Rochester to SLC.

Well, Got the house; Landlord seems really cool. If all keeps going well the road-trip from Rochester to SLC will be in September.

Awesome! I’m glad that worked out for you…

OT - T-minus 5 days until shots…!

you’re going to need a cable cross under type, I have a cross over the top clear floor and needed 12’+

5 days?!?!?!? Uhm, more like 51 hours! We should be landing in B-Lo in 48 hours!

Gotcha. Also might have to put some footings in for the posts… hmm. Have to see what thickness the pad that is there is; might do it just to be safe anyways.
