Does anyone have a daily driver with a cai? what can i expect with weather like this? do i have to be careful, obviously not go through puddles, but i have heard of a few horror stories of them sucking up water? and 2, does anyone have a greddy exhaust? or know what one sounds like? i might get on this summer, but i want to make sure everyoe has good luck with it and that it has good sound
thank you
Terry
I have an AEM CAI on my daily driven '01 Sentra SE. I’ve had no issues.
You’d have to do something REALLY stupid to cause a problem.
Depends where it goes and how your car is designed. I’d have to take mine out in the CRX in weather like this. Then again I have no fender liner, and theres a hole in the bumper right where the filter is lol. It works awesome in dry weather tho.
As long as your fender is sealed up nicely, you shouldnt have a problem.
I have a Custom SRI and no problems. If your really scared you can just buy a bypass valve for you CAI
Yep, my car has a CAI on it and I’ve had no issues whatsoever. It does have a bypass filter on it though, so I’m not worried about driving in the wet.
If you guys remember back when we had that super huge rainfall that pretty much made the whitemud and west ed into lakes… I actually had issues with my shortram… no inner fenders and the hole where the factory intake goes into the fender actually allowed enuff water to come up to clog the filter with water… I had to keep the engine over 5000rpm so it could pull air threw the thing.
aiight cool, i try my best to avoid puddles anyways, rage_man, did you make your own short ram?
Yes… I have some extra pipe left… Maybe it might work…
