2001 saturn sl check engine light disaster

Well to make a long story short I worked 4 am-12pm last night and I wake up to missed calls and texts from my broad this afternoon about how her piece of garbage cars check engine light came on. So half awake I tell her to take it to advance and have them pull the code. She calls me after and its throwing 7 codes out of no where.

I have no idea why her car would throw that many at once. Im a honda guy and hate her car. pep boys/ other local shops said it would be 100$ plus before they could even begin to diagnose it.

The codes are as follows: P0105, P0217 ,P0326, P0341, P0442, P1599, P1620

What in gods name would launch 7 codes at once like that. Some major sensor that affects all of those must of shit out on her right?

Last time any car of mine through anything more than 3 related codes it was because I forgot to plug my MAF back in after cleaning it.

any insight or help would be appreciated!

Those stupid saturn sl series, while being boring/cheap ass cars are super reliable, cheap to fix and super easy to work on so I don’t know why you would hate it. If you just google “saturn sl xxxxx” with the x’s being the code you can pretty easily figure out what the issue may be.

Anyone can track down a code or 2, I think he’s concerned with it being 7 at a time. How do you even go about diagnosing that, a new engine? LOL

I’m guessing by the variety of systems coding and all at once, I would think it’s a computer malfunction.

Clear the. Codes and see what comes back. Is the car actually overheating. How does it run? Start simple and check fuses.

My car at one point was throwing out 18 codes, but running completely fine. Changed the gas cap and an o2 sensor and all the codes went away. One thing could be setting off a bunch of other things. just search online, with the amount of those things around someone is bound to have the same code combination.

Yes exactly, 7 at a time is ridiculous. I told her if her next car isnt a honda I wont touch it.

I will check the computer at first I thought maybe plugs and wires but its not throwing a misfire code.

did that and it came right back, its not overheating and running the exact same as it always has. i will check the fuses Thursday.

Your right haha these stupid ass egg looking things are everywhere. Ill extend my searches a little deeper.

Replace the ECTS, reset the CEL and go through a drive cycle. When this sensor is bad, it could be the culprit for the other codes.

If this were a VW, I would say just replace the blown tail light and top off the window wash fluid and all the codes should clear.
