2003 Cavalier [ college kid build]

do some research im sure there is a LS swap kit out there for it… deff worth it!

HAHAHA Good one brew

nope there isn’t not enough room for an ls motor in the engine bay… need to pound out the firewall about 4 inchs and the do a drive shaft tunnel and then custom fab a rear end to mount back there… no thanks

shift 518 low down. You already said you dont know a whole lot but they will still rip you a new one= haters. whole lot of shit talking but in person no one has the balls to say shit. welcome.

best bet is to go turbo. they have the header, turbo , intercooler, piping all that good stuff for cheap on ebay… save some $$ and have synapse tune it for about 8 psi. that would be a fun little ride.

with the cams and H/O intake manifold + synapse tune id like to be around 180hp… its nothing compared to alot of the people on here but itll be a bit more fun to drive…
i eventually do plan on supercharging it but i want to get everything else all set first…

thanks bud…

i know theres enough room for a northstar V8…

and i cant figure out how to multi quote…

Just keep it the way it is until you get out of college and get something thats fast in stock form and worth modding.

in the long run you will be happy. Even a cammed out Cavy is still a 15 second car.

thank you! and yeah not much else is really happening with it…
cams and tune soon…
lowering with sportlines and tokiko d-specs…
and probably a lip kit…
then im set!

supercharger may happen in years down the road but its still up in the air

:facepalm… man im not trying to hate on your build, but i feel like modding a cavalier is somewhat similar to making a lawn tractor fast. Im also a college student and suffer driving a 95’ thunderbird that is slow as fuck and isn’t the meanest looking car on the road, but i figure I might as well finish school then get something that I can work with, with a solid budget. So once again, to each his own, but don’t do it…

its fine man… and i can see your point but for the cavs with the ecotecs in them they can actually be pretty impressive… but like ive said i dont plan on anything crazy. just a quick little car to drive around.

wow what a utter waste of moneys.

                  :excited

ecotecs make good numbers boosted i dont know what your problemz r.

where’s the love? come on fella’s. nice ride bro. do what you want. i like what youve done.

You are literally the last person I would listen to about anything dealing with motor vehicles

Kevin, you are being a little narrow minded here. Now this is just being posted for arguments sake, but a shop out West(Rochester area) has this Cavalier:

I’ve been following the progress on the car and they plan to dyno in April/May. It looks to be a solid car for sure. So these Cavalier’s have some potential if thats what someone wants.
Now their motor is a completely built, stroked 2.6L…but still.

I mean I know if the kid realllllly wanted to make it pretty sick he could take a lot of time and money to do so, but he just wants to do a couple mods… one including a bumper. So I mean personally, I think if he is just planning to get a car later on, its pointless to do a couple small mods but its his car and money.

every car is a waste of money…
think about it
