2004 Acura TL AC quit, low pressure side realy high.

So my AC quit one day after working great the night before, couldnt figure it out. The clutch seems to engage and the car bogs down when the AC is turned on. I went to Autozone to check the low side pressure and the gauge went all the way around to the bottom of the gauge. Pretty sure thats not normal, anyone familiar with AC systems have any input let me know. I ran a check on the cars electrical heating system and nothing showed up, no fuses are blown so Im stumped. Whats the deal?

did you check the pressure with the car running?

Yes, and had the air on high. Was I supposed to have it off?

No you check with the engine running. Was the compressor running? Generally you check it with the AC on and on max. Ambient temperature affects the pressure however it shouldn’t be that high obviously. Did you recharge the system lately? You may have too much refrigerant in the system.

Also check your condenser to make sure there isn’t too much crap on it, reduced air flow through the condenser will cause higher than normal low side pressures.

It seemed to be running when I checked it, also I have not charged it.
