AC systems - who to go to?

alright, so i need to have someone diagnose the ac system in my car. compressor dosent turn on, i know its not siezed and i know the external temp sensor is working fine. so i figure either pressure/capacity is too low or too high, or the clutch dosent work. hoping someone can check the clutch before emptying out the system, drying, and refilling/pressurizing. not familiar with ac systems and havent needed to do this before. thanks.

im sure ya checked fuses, so in that case try jumping the compressor, with the AC turned on take a paper clip and bend it so its shaped like 2 prongs, then place it in the evap tank (i think thats what the cylinder looking tank is) electrical hookup and see if it kicks on

+1

^^^thanks! will try that after work today.

Seriously an EVAP tank? It’s an accumulator/ or receiver drier. Some pressure switches can’t be jump because they are more than 2 prong and require a varied signal to be working properly.

lol i was thinking evap canister!!! yes accumulator

In my experiences, collision shops usually do the best work on AC systems. Just call around.

so i hooked a gauge up, read like 15 psi. so i hooked a can up to fill it and head the compressor kick on and it jumped to like 20psi and the compressor turned off after like 2 seconds. took a while and got it to 28psi, then gave up. also noticed it sounds like my blower for the hvac is making a groaning noise that gets louder as i rev up the car. fml.
