I got more info, if anyone cares
First, the pre-game party … there will be no admission fee, like they had last year. The band will be outside. To the best of my knowledge, there are no plans for live music in the Arena during the game. It should be a fun event.
Fan give-away … there is something in the works, although he wouldn’t tell us what it is.
Intros … there will likely be something done differently, however it won’t be a drastic change from the way they’ve been done all season.
Half time … there won’t be any elaborate half time presentation due to time constraints. They’re still waiting final word from ESPN as to exactly how much time they will have, and there’s a possibility that half time may be slightly shorter than usual.
Ticket sales … are going VERY well. They’ve opened the 300 level as of today. The front office is pleased with the way tickets have been selling so far, even without having started their big marketing push yet. Their goal is to sell this puppy out and they have plans in the works to make sure that happens. Ticket sales are expected to pick up even more next week as they begin their heavy marketing.
Advertising … As I said above, the big marketing push is scheduled to begin on Sunday, with a special Tom Borrelli piece in the News. Watch for Tom’s article and expect to see and hear more Bandits stuff everywhere. There’s some players scheduled to be on local radio stations, although I’m not sure which stations or which players.
Post game … the post game celebration will be at Pearl St., as usual.
I hope that little bit of information helps alleviate some concerns. I know it’s not a lot, but with such a short time to plan this thing, not all details are available as of yet. (yeah, they have two weeks, but that’s no where near enough time to coordinate everything that needs to be done … trust me, I organize events a lot!) And besides, I’d rather just know that they are doing something, and be surprised when I see what it is. The front office will likely be working 16 hour days from now until the game is over.
On a side note, the Brigade will still be holding their tailgate in the Donovan Building parking lot, beginning at 2 PM. Stop by and say hello on your way to the pre-game party. We’ll be meandering between both places I have a feeling.
If I get any more info, I’ll post it. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait!
GO BANDITS!!!
