i just got done reflashing to a “stage 1” - loving it so far.
Here are the good times from today…
I got my armest last night. So I installed it today as well as plasti-dip’d my center console. I have a forester DIN and jdm red hazard switch on order.
Then my battery was dead. Looks like the original, and this is not convered under a NYS Used car warranty.
New installed, and my nice clean engine bay. As clean as the interior. wish the exterior was this nice.
However, I’m having problems with my PS making tons of noise and giving me some trouble at low speed. I will be calling the dealer about this tomorrow.
To end on a positive note, my H&R springs came in. I’m going to be purchasing a set of 04 STi struts tonight/tomorrow, and a Prodrive oval tip muffler hopefully tomorow.
What exactly did you plasti-dip? I cant tell from your pics…

the center console was silver like in this picture. it’s hard to tell due to the flash. it came out pretty decent. i did that to my old saabaru too.
some orange prodrives…:lol
that is the old saabaru. it will have the same exact suspension. at this moment, not sure on the rims. possibly enkei rpf1.

looking for a good quality catless bellmouth downpipe and a maddad 3" - 2.5" intermediate pipe for now.
center console completed. forester din modified to fit 06-07 and the JDM / STi limited hazard switch. You can see in the 2nd pic that the switch lights up. the standard switch doesnt.
Definitely going to look into plastidip never done it before, but man that looks so much better than the stock silver, everything looks good, I like the switch upgrade too
i got a can of plastidip at homedepot. it comes in a spray can, and the one can has done both cars so far. it’s easy to use, and if you mess up it comes off without messing up the plastics. also there is no need to scuff up the plastics like you do for paint; just clean it first and then spray.
Sweet picked up a can today, thanks for the tip man. It looks like you just left the climate control dials alone, did you spray the outer part of the dial at all? Not sure how I wanna do it, obviously can’t spray the face of them, but I did want to do the outside of the dial if possible. Also noticed they must’ve used different hazard switch on the 07’s as mine lights up factory.
yeah, i sprayed the knobs, but not the dial face. if you pull on the knob hard, they come right out. also, take a flat head screwdriver and you can push the orange indicator out of the knob.
