No big details yet on it, just those basic specs. I’m pretty sure it can be tuned up to an EVO X fairly easy, except with less electronic and suspension and brake goodies. Same deal as a WRX since the WRX has lesser suspension and brakes and less electronic stuff and a lesser tranny, but I hear a Stage 2 WRX can have the same power as an STi.
Too bad its the 4B11. From a buy in standpoint it offers a much better alternative to paying $40k for a gussed up Evo on fat burgers.
It has to be substantially lighter with alot less luxury garbage. Reduced HP output, but as we all know… this shit all swaps like lego’s. As the X guys go bigger the RA guys will snap up the X inj, turbo’s. etc… and it will be a quick and easy way to have a lighter, less cluttered to fuck and back Evo.
I never thought a ralliart would end up being a future for Mitsubishi’s enthusiasts… but its a hell of alot more promising than the pig the X is. The day I pay $40k for an Evo (see also glorified DSM… and ticking Mitsubishi timb bomb) neon colored elephants will soar from my sphincter.
Not to be a 4G63 loyalist dipshit… but the 4B11 doesn’t exactly excite me either. No open deck aluminum block does. I imagine with proper reinforcement it can be just as capable as any other of its kind. Time will tell once they are off and getting thoroughly flogged just how capable the powerplant is.
I’m almost considering this car over a 2007 WRX. I think I’m sticking with the WRX though I’m more of a Subaru Enthusiast than a Mitsubishi Enthusiast. I just wanted to look at more than one car to test drive and check out before I officially buy a WRX.
I’m also wondering what turbo they are using inside the Ralliart. I think they are going with the same turbo as the WRX.
