Just did this trying not to crowd up the Ruffalo Jills thread… I just shat bricks by reading this… going from not starting a game since highschool to getting franchised, that is freaking insane
Sources: Pats to franchise Cassel

lolll
well… that should be interesting
wow, thats a ton of money to tie up in 2 players when only one is gonna be starting
id ride the bench for that kind of money!
~$30 mil… I mean I understand what they are doing, but I honestly don’t think Cassel is worth $14mil.
Everyone thinks I’m crazy when I say the Patriots might be gearing up to trade Tom Brady while the getting’s good. Let him start a few games to show he’s back, and offload him before the niggling knee problems can destroy his value to the organization as both a player and a trade target.
I see them doing what the Cowboys did with Herschel Walker - make a gigantic trade to stock the organization with several new young talents.
But everyone says, “NO, NOT TOM BRADY, HE’S TOO GOOD TO TRADE.”
That’s why he’s perfect to trade.
They know what they are doing… smart move to keep their options open. What happens if they release Cassell and Brady’s rehab doesn’t go as planned? Yea… $14M well spent.
+1 Brady might rebound just fine, but there is a chance he won’t and Cassell showed he could lead the team this year. I’m not surprised at all.
while watching Sunday night football last week. it said Brady might not even be back for 2009 due to complications with his recovery. and to be honest who knows that Cassell wont end up being this years Derek Anderson… who was great last year and was pathetic this year
