Yeah i get ya there, but say for instance we get a big place, that serves food and whatnot, and this event would make them alot of money, wouldnt their insurance cover it? Or no?
If the show was during the day it would be less likely for idiots to pull the whole burn out and go 90 through a parking lot routine
No. I had insurance with my shop when I was located in the Kohl’s Plaza. The insurance is written down to cover day to day activity’s. In my case i was required by my landlord to pick up and additional rider policy for the day of my show for one million dollars personal injury and property coverage and I was told I what I was and wasnt allowed to do. A bunch of people on this forum will tell you I had no vendors. Due to my location in a plaza they dissallowed any businesses out side my plaza from selling anything for a profit and I had to pre-approve contest and such. It was a process.
wow…that sucks
Its a lot of work and tough to pull off. If any one remembers that huge fiasco of a car show in lake george a couple years back not every thing runs smoothly. And unless you have deep pockets esp. with a first year even dont be shocked to lose a grand out of pocket. I feel very fortuniate that my show went pretty well. Only had a small group of jackasses. Def. had some things that didnt go my way. But I was happy I meet and exceeded my own expectations.
what if you have it at a public park though ? Theres no limit to how many people can be at a public park and they have to carry they’re own insurance, is that a possibility ?and how much will it cost for the insurance ? I know alot of advertisers that I might be able to get some sponsors to get some extra cash flow, its a possibility
To have it in a public place you have to get the approval of the local town that its in. They require permits which range from $500-$1000 and will also require insurance as that was something I looked into as well. I had o get a permit from colonie even when I did my show at Kohls plaza. Now this is only if you have a car show its alot more simple to stick with a GTG BBQ like the Shift518 BBQ at Central Park in Schnectady.
Honestly, if losing a grand is a big deal you shouldn’t be proposing or planning a show.
You really need to find a good location and start advertising now.
well Im going to try for the next cpl weeks to see what I can get figured out, I work for the Denooyer’s and I am almost positive they would sponsor it and even allow me to use one of they’re properties for the show, I will look into that also, If I cant get anywheres or if it turns out being to costly I will just plan some kinda bbq for shift518 and 518carscene and maybe some other local forum, we will see, I will at least try before I give up
good idea, I hope you make it happen. ill be happy to help out in anyway i can. i think it would be best to keep it local albany/colonie area. meets that are a distance tend to not workout as well. like i said you have time vote on a spot go through all the steps and it should turnout great.
Well heres some different areas, please let me know where u want it !
1.) Somewheres in Albany, maybe a park ?
2.) Somewheres in Schenectady, maybe where u all had the grill last year ?
3.) Up in Saratoga, possibly SPAC ?
4.) Thatcher Park ( would be more of a meet than a show )
5.) Meet at Lebanon Valley for a track day
any other ideas please suggest ! ;D
:banana :nuts
??
LVD track day is actually more than likely your best best. They have their own insurance, and it woould cost alot less. Plus, the attraction of racing/grudges will bring people. Bring a few grills and theres the food, they have b/r’s. Got my vote!
