2009 NHL Draft/FA thread

It’s worked for Toronto for 40 years

Gaborik to the Rangers
Gionta to the Canadiens
Khabibulin to Oilers
Havlat rumored to Wild
Komiserkik to Maple Leafs

Havlat to wild - 6 years - $30M and rumor is they still aren’t done for the night. :ohnoes:

I sure hope Toews and Kane, don’t break the bank next year. It’s going to be awfully hard to keep both of them with Campbell and Hossa. I doubt either will pull in a huge amount as RFA’s though on their 2nd NHL contracts.

I’d really like to be a Montreal fan, lot’s of exciting shit going down today for them.

x2 omg, theyre stacked now.

yep…at least the habs show people that they actually want to have a winning team this year.

on a side note…a nice article saying how the sabres are just a joke.

I have that same feeling every year. It seems like every year Montreal is out there making big moves, getting players worth a damn, giving their fans something to be excited about.

I wonder who montreal will have for goaltending

Antropov - Thrashers - 4 yrs $16M

good, I’m glad he didn’t sign with the Rangers or Leafs

Sather was quoted as saying “$5M a year for Antropov is un-realistic and a snowballs chance in hell.”

Well, they had room for Gaborik and Antropov got $1M less than he wanted. Seems like a fair deal for all parties involved. Kovalchuk will be happy.

Recchi signed w/ Boston again.

Aucoin with Phoenix for a year.

Beauchemin is apparently weighing 8-10 offers. Jesus.

Don’t worry, there is a 99% probability that Darcy doesn’t even know who he is.

Apparently, the Heatley price tag went up since Murray had to pay him his $4 million dollar bonus. Regardless, I’m assuming they can circumvent the situation by unloading a couple players to Heatley’s new team (if he can find one) that will free up $4M in cap space.

Heatley is such a fuck-up. After this showing of sportsmanship, I’m highly certain that his stock will drop in the future. Regardless of a team picking him up now or 5 years from now.

If Montreal keeps Kovalev around, we’re fucked.

I guess Kovalchuk asked for Antropov. Played together during the lockout.

Too bad Demitra and Gaborik don’t get the same luxury.

Pens want Kotalik for shootout purposes.
