I just read this on a tuner forum. I’m surprised no one has posted anything about it on this forum yet. I’ll cut and paste the best part of the interview below. I wonder what they’ll call the entry level Z…maybe 240Z?
I’m all for the 3.5 or the 3.7 but its a joke to put the I4 in there. Why would anyone want a sports car look with a 4 cyl. 220hp or not and especially not FWD. Damn I cant wait to see a 250hp I4 Z06 or Maybe a 240hp I4 Gallardo so everyone and their dog can afford one. What a joke
it is how ford sells alot of mustangs with different trim and motor options as well as older camaros and such that came with 4,6,8 options all in one year too
I suppose i just dont like the current trend of sports cars lowering their standards just so everone can afford one. I relize it makes money however i believe some cars should remain performance orientated and if you cant afford that then you have to go to the next affordable car in line. What would you think if the new GTR Was offered with a QR in it???
All the rumblings I heard that Nissan was coming out with a RWD entry level sportscar was nice. And then they drop this bowl of shit on our lap and say all excitedly “Isn’t this awesome? We’re bringing back a I4 sportscar! And it’s FWD! Isn’t that cool?!”
Someone needs a punch. If this car was RWD, do you know how many young guys would be purchasing this car? Just look at the demographics. Look at half of the guys who frequent this site! RWD is what everyone wants. An affordable RWD sportscar.
I kinda though thats what the Sentra Spec V was. lol. Just make a 2door Sentra Spec V for the I4 and leave the Z the fuck alone as a 6cyl RWD! that’s all I have to say about that. lol.
