you a member there?
Boo I was gonna go get my sled to go to springville and south of there tomorrow but not if its tons of mud and water
Trial family membership this year, pretty sure we’re going to join for next year.
I know snowmobile conditions aren’t going to be great but I see a high of 43 for next Sat so if it’s rideable I’m going.
^^lol. bunch of freakin pansies.
if you go riding, stay east west. bliss-arcade-concord-springville.
my buddy and i went today, unloaded at earls. yes some water, but not a big deal at all. if youre afraid of the water that was out there today, then all i have to say is LOL. there was less water out there then a typical ride in the northtowns. it wasnt that bad. actually, about halfway through our ride you could tell a big difference in things freezing up more, if the groomers go out tonight tomorrow will be some fantastic riding. they had a few feet out there. not much snirt at all, and was still a good ride
Not much water…but your front suspension looks like a 1956 Whirlpool freezer.
youre talking to a guy that has rode his snowmobile down the middle of the canal when there was more open water then when there was ice
seriously though, if people are afraid of the conditions that were out there today, then i do not want to hear them whine and bitch about the weather EVER. there was alot of good riding out there. hell, i discovered this sprague brook park, the trail goes right down the road winding through there, thats fun as hell to just hold er to the bar and lean off the side.
we only had to turn around 3 times from me not knowing where im going
Yeah, Spraguebrook is pretty cool. Might be able to sneak out this week.
Going out towards springville with the gf and Justin if anyone’s out riding today. Hit me up
Rode from springville to west valley to arcade so far. Some frozen dirt and mud here and there but the sleds are relatively clean still. I’ll post up the map later
Cool. I think we’re gonna end up going Tuesday somewhere in the southern tier (probably Springville). Just got too much going on this weekend. Post pics, maps, etc. Be safe.
I rode from the power line in Boston, through springville and zoar valley back around to Boston. At the Boston hotel now. Not sure where I’m heading next. Conditions are as good as you can ask for, I passed maybe 3 large water holes the whole time, none of them too intimidating.
thanks for the update
Rode from Sprauge Park down to Machias, over to Arcade. Went to the border of Oatka and tuned back. About 80 miles, one gnar water and mud hole where it wasn’t so much pick a line as it was pin it and hope. Tri County gets the nod for best trails ad usual.
Justin and i rode like 75 miles or so today
Here’s the route.
the first pic was from springville to arcade. trails were great for the conditions. very few frozen mud spots and virtually no water.
the second pick coming back from Chaffee to springville sucked. water and mud more often than not.
Happy you guys got some good miles in
3-4 of us going to start out of Cherry Creek 10ish tomorrow morning. All welcome.
Hey dime, you still got that track? Buddy’s kids sled threw a pick, destroyed heat exchanger, melted motor (warning sensor was unplugged, came loose, whole nother story). It’s a late 90’s era ZL500. LMK, thanks.
You get any good reports of out Cherry Creek? From the posts on their Facebook group it sounds like terrible conditions down that way.
Here’s our ride from yesterday. Sprauge Brook Park -> Yorkshire -> Machias -> part way to Bliss (respected Oatka not being open and stopped when we hit their trail marker) -> Arcade -> Sprauge Brook Park.
#1 is where we started to loop back toward Arcade for lunch only to meet 4 sleds coming out of the woods who waved us down. Going straight instead of the 90 degree turn we took takes you to Bliss via Oatka trails but they were closed. Don’t be dickheads and ride closed trails. The guys coming out of the woods suggested we really didn’t want to go that way. One was so wet he looked like he had fallen in a river and the rest were covered in mud. Since we had just done a steady 80mph down the perfectly smooth converted railroad bed we made a uturn and looped back the way we came. When a section is that nice and fast you don’t mind running it twice.
#2 is where we started to add another loop that was going to take us over toward Boston’s trails but between the moguls, being tired from skiing Saturday and knowing a huge spread of super bowl foods were waiting at my house we made a u-turn and headed back for the trailer.
 to Tri-County grooming and making the best of the powder. Sardinia’s trails show no signs of being groomed since the snow first fell.
We would never ride closed trails. I will look into conditions. We’re not committed to Cherry Creek but that’s just typically where we drop and go. Thanks for the update.
I drove through Marilla last night (Clinton/ Two Rod) and saw a number of tracks on their trails. Do they ever put “closed” signs up on trails? Yesterday the Southerntier clubs trails were “closed” according to the website so I didn’t go on them, but there was no indication on the trail and they all looked like they had a ton of traffic on them.
No, the clubs don’t put closed signs on the trails. They update their sites/phone messages and it’s the rider’s responsibility to check.
Marilla is definitely closed and the people riding there are going to end up getting a bunch of trails shut down.
This is the official word from Cherry Creek as of 14 hours ago:
I think everybody needs to calm down. Our trails are open as per the hot line info. The State Lands and high snow areas are open but the towns are unridable because of lack of snow and much water and ice. Please be smart and stay away from low snow areas. I know this is very frustrating for all of us but what can we do and what do you want us to do? Weather condiyions for the last two seasons have been aweful and its not something we can control.
Franklinville is officially open as of this morning.
Folsom and Holland have not updated which means they are still closed.
