2011-2012 Snowmobile Season

ill be at the isoc races this weekend

also, ANYONE SEE THE BIG NEWS?!?!?!?!?!

yamaha is using arctic cat’s chassis for their 2014 lineup. proof that yamaha has admitted they suck at engineering snowmobiles, and that arctic cat has the best chassis out right now. good for cat, not only are they making money from their own sled sales, but theyre making money off of selling chassis’ to yamaha as well. proof that arctic cats arent just the fastest sleds out there, but the best handling and riding sleds as well. always have, always will. period.

I wonder if that will mean you can get cat parts at yamaha dealers…

In related news…I read in Snowtraxx magazine that Ski Doo has been contracted by the Hoveround scooter company to be the exclusive supplier of chassis for their 2014 lineup.

Maybe if that pile of crap old Cat of yours didn’t beat you up so much you could ride more than just up a hill at KB and back to the trailer.

In non fanboy news… Leaving work at 11 today and trailering to Spraugebrook Park. Plan is to head south to almost to Salamanca, over to Franklinville, up to Machias then trough Arcade back to Spraugebrook. Little worried we may run out of snow before we get to where we turn toward Franklinville down near Salamanca though. If so we’ll double back and find another route. You’re not lost unless you’re out of gas.

yeah… you havent been riding snowmobiles long enough to brand bash.

i should edit this to add the following so noone gets their panties too twisted up.

i said the above statment because you havent spent enough time with snowmobiles to actually be able to back up what you may say, and you could really make youself look like a dummy

for the people that think the rev’s are amazing, LOL. you have no idea.

You kittys and your chirping…I find it humorous.

Anyways, I am finally replacing my ski tonight and I am going to go riding through Holland, maybe down through Boston and Colden if anyone wants to meet up. I am hoping to have my new ski back on by around 7 and prob head somewhere to catch some of the game.

I will say yamaha is out in there own world when it comes to chassis design, I dont mean that in a good way. The big 3 are all great sleds. Saying Cat is the best and has been the best is far stretched. I don’t recall reading cat being at the top of many reviews in the past 5 years, definitely not a much as doo and polaris. I’m glad you enjoy cat, that’s what the sport is all about.

right…and you know how much those magazines are paid to sway their opinions? go out in the real world, ride them, work on them, race them.

slide rail suspensions, moving the engine down and infront of the track, light weight design, a-arm front suspensions, fuel injection, etc. all cat innovations and guess what, every other manufacture followed because it was proven to be a superior design. in the 60’s when cat came out with the new panther it turned the snowmobile world upside down. all aluminum chassis, relocated engine for better handling and lower center of gravity, slide rail suspension, almost 10 gallons of fuel capacity. by the end of the 80’s they came out with their a-arm design. it took the rest of the manufactures over 10-15 years to catch up on that one. in the 90’s they came out with the zr chassis. still to this day is known as the indy car of snowmobiles with incredible cornering characteristics. in the 90’s they also came out with not just fuel injection, but batteryless fuel injection. the other manufactures are still trying to catch up, polaris hired a cat engineer to get their fuel injection systems working right. when cat came out with the firecats they yet again turned the snowmobile world upside down. lightweight, fast as hell. still fast. cat’s twin spar chassis, still the best riding sleds in existance. ive watched 70 year old men go down whooped out trails like it was nothing on them. their procross chassis, its winning everywhere and now yamaha is buying them for their sleds. cats engines, theyve always been fast and performance oriented.

theres alot more out there, but i wont embarass you cat haters anymore

Wow, nice too see a little friendly trash talk can get so out if hand. I ride with one Polaris guy and one SD guy, both newer “rider forward” chassis. Both have ridden mine, and for an 04, they are impressed with both ride and handling. I like the chassis and ride myself and plan on keeping it until I can’t find parts for it anymore.

Good luck out there Bobby. Save this site to your favorites…just in case.

its all in good fun

It’s a broken link. lulz oh the irony!

please tell me you didn’t think it was real.

Of course not. Anyone who would go into the business of towing broken down ski-doos would go out of business very quickly…now Arctic Cats, you would make a killing!

I would rather own a fire extinguishing business for Ski-Doos…

Touche’ !!

Bobby how many people are going out tonight. I’m trying to push somethings around to see if I can get out.

Well there is a few of my buddies leaving strykersville around 6 to head out to Smokeys to watch the game. Hopefully I will have my sled back together by then. If not, I will probably just ride out with my brother for a while. Everyone seems to be going tomorrow and Saturday. I see that as an opportune time to go tonight.

I wont be able to make it by 6. I work till 5 then have to head to holland to get sled. 6:30-7 is better for me.

i just really dont like skidoos. i hate working on them too…alot of it i think has to do with the fact that most of the time in past it seems the skidoo guys are much bigger doucher fairies then the ones riding the other brands. but thats just what ive experienced.

have fun riding guys, i unfortunately have 4 hours of class after work otherwise i would be going out.

I will fully agree that most Ski-Doo fanboys are total douchers.
