2011-2012 Snowmobile Season

95dime is the reason I hate on Cat guys, way too brand loyal

Hey now, watch what you say about us Cat guys. I’ve owned all brands except Yamaha. Every make has their goods and bads. You’d have to ride all makes and models to be able to make an educated statement. Who, besides the magazine guys, ever get a chance to do that?

all I will add is,

Polaris makes the BEST mountain sled. RMK PRO 800>>>>>Ski Doo XM>>>Proclimb m8

Yeah, my buddy goes on sled trips out west and the consensus is that Polaris is the sled of choice for powder riding and climbing.

I almost bought a Polaris 900 when I was shopping. I heard they were rattle traps and a lot of the 900’s had issues starting on fire for a while. My mechanic who rides everything, which ^^^ you might know since you went to Holland, said their 600’s in and around 06/06 were bulletproof. My brother has a 600 Fusion too, but I don’t like riding it.

My buddy has a 700 fusion and it steers like a schoolbus and rides like a truck on rumble strips. Likes the suspension though.

Rob or anyone else that goes out tonight please post up about conditions debating being “sick” tomorrow and riding from Chestnut Ridge

I rode from strykersville out to smokeys thinking it wouldn’t be bad, but I was wrong.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you rob… I can’t go very far with my sled anyways… I gotta dig out the 9 gallon tank for it.

Ps the Polaris Fusion was the worst sled they’ve ever made. I can’t comment on very many trail sleds because the last trail deticated sled I owned was a Yamaha Vmax when I was 12…

But with that being said, I’m excited to ride the Yamaha artic cat when they come out. They bought a ton of shares in Artic Cat, so i guess now we all know why. I love how people think that one brand is with out A doubt better than another, it’s the same bullshit convo you hear from Chevy and ford guys. I despise Tucker more than any of them but that hibbert addition mountain sled looks pretty B/A

Channel 4 News… I got asked to ride for the cameras to help promote the race tomorrow. The video didn’t work on my phone but should work on a computer

No backflips? Bah !

Depending on the weather I am thinking of riding down to the snocross race in Salamanca Saturday.

I’m sure ill see you down there Brett.

Rode from Spraugebrook, Little Valley, Salamanca, Franklinville, Machias, Arcade then up to the power line trail. Tacked on something marked scenic loop north of Spraugebrook because we still weren’t ready to go home. Best conditions all year, especially Snow Bounders and Franklinville area.

So while you idiots were in here stroking each others e-cocks about which brands are best a couple buds on a cat and a doo were out having a blast.

GPS Track:

 I’m dragging my old man of the couch tomorrow and heading south.

JayS, do you think we could make it from Arcade to Salamanca tomorrow based on the current trail conditions?

There were a few thin spots then other spots where the snow was so deep we almost got stuck. I’d be afraid what that little bit of rain forecast for tomorrow is going to do to those thin spots.

Everybody keeps saying rain, but I saw snow last night on the forecast. Maybe a little mixed precip too, but very little rain.

Not sure that it matters, you’re not riding to the casino anyway. There is no connector from the northern trails through Salamanca unless you want to ride the roads right through the middle of town. I’ve asked a bunch of people who ride down that way because we wanted to make a run into Allegany Park if they got enough snow. The only way is in the LOOOONG was around in green is what I’ve been told.

Man, that’s a haul just to get a small distance.

I think we are going to trailer to Franklinville and drop from there. Especially after seeing this detour, a ride back to strykersville may get old fast.

Also I am pretty sure the races are at the casino?

No way there is enough snow to take that detour because it’s way south of where the lake effect fell.

If you want to go to the snocross you’re probably going to need to go by car.
