I am going to head out tonight most likely through Holland over to Colden. Hoping to head South through Springville over to Arcade and back. Not really sure where the best trails are at this point.
We left from Boutwell Hill Rd. parking lot and headed toward Cassadega, then to Stockton, back to Cassedega, then home. Only put on maybe 50 miles but this was by far the best riding in the last two years, and maybe the best in many years. Groomed trails, no water holes, no dirt, perfect temps, light traffic. Looks like next week is gonna put the final nail in the coffin. Hope everyone enjoyed what they could.
Calling it quits for the season. Could probably get out tonight if I was willing to really drive to find snow but with Arcade now closed and all the great rides I think it’s time to hang it up, especially since I’ve skied the last two nights in a row and plan on one more ski run Friday night.
Pretty good season, longest single trip was 174 miles. Pretty sure I’m well over 1000 on the year.
Hopefully next year the northtowns get more snow and we can ride out of Clarence more often. Will definitely be making Franklinville and Snow Bounders trails a prime destination next year.
if any of you pansies want to get more use out of your sleds this year there are hilldrags at peaknpeak down towards the ny/erie boarder on the 22nd and 23rd, and they are about 90% confirmed about having another race at kissing bridge on the 21st.
ive been doing more research and have figured out how to set my rear suspension to work with the 10.625" wide asphalt track…any one else on here want to set their sled up for pavement and use it every week bracket racing?
going to a hillclimb race tomorrow at brantling…over by sodus bay. part of the black jack series, should be a good time
As a finalization to a lackluster season. If you think snow removal can be difficult today:
^^^awesome. lol.
so who wants to sponsor me this year on the tar? lol.
Great video. My grandfather used to tell me stories about plowing like that. Really cool to see a video of exactly what he described.
He also used to talk about the snow banks getting so high you had to be careful not to touch the powerlines on one section of road that was particularly prone to snow drifts forming. My grandmother has a picture of him standing on a snowbank and the power line is about chest high.

Oatka just opened trails south of 20a and west of 19, tri county just opened, and franklinville posted that they’re closed but to check back because they’re thinking about opening as well.
I figures that I have plans tonight, tomorrow and all day saturday.
im thinking of going to tug hill friday and saturday. supposed to get another 20+ by then out there
yeah they have 12+ of fresh snow on a decent base right now on the hill. my buddies are heading up friday, unfortunately i cant make it.
get em out while you can
Add Folsom to the list of open WNY trails.
Just be aware that the trail from Red apple to the Pub is closed. They have issued numerous trespassing tickets on that trail lately.
If it’s marked it won’t be an issue because we don’t ride closed trails.
If it’s not marked good luck getting that trespassing charge to stick.
Well, here’s the deal. I rode through it a couple weeks ago and came upon a Sheriff standing there just waiting to hand out tickets. I was able to ride right up to him because there were no markings and someone had taken down the sign. I helped the Sheriff put the chain back up and we made sure nobody could come through and I didn’t get a ticket. He said he had just written a few, but nobody stated that it wasn’t marked closed.
You guys thinking about Tug Hill, sounds like they’re getting HAMMERED. Rt 177 is closed, Montague Inn just updated their facebook page saying they were closed because of the blizzard conditions, Tuggers is closed too. They’re getting multiple FEET of snow.
I just saw that. they got 30-40" so far and are calling for way more by Friday. I saw that they just extended ours and their winter warning until Friday.
Anyone going out to the hill climb tonight at KB?
seems like almost two feet in spots at my house in East Concord
seriously? you guys FINALLY take an interest in going to a race and i cant make it? lol.
i wont be there, committed to going on a tour at the buffalo insane asylum complex before they had finalized the event at KB. thats okay though, im gonna go to the motorama carshow tonight after the tour. wont be at the peak n peak race this weekend either, going to toronto for the megaspeed carshow. might make it to toggenburg on the 30th if i dont already start taking the sled apart to switch over to asphalt.
No, I’m going to go out and actually do some riding instead of getting maybe 5 minutes of seat time to pin the throttle for a few seconds at KB with the Shred and Regan type crowd.
Leaving work at 3 today, dropping at Emery Park in Colden. Not sure if we’re going to head south to Snow Bounders or south then east to Oatka.
Holland is still closed as of right now so either way we’ve got to go dead south out of Colden to reach Pioneer Snow Surfers.
