2013 Boats and Hoes Thread!

didnt see a thread, so im starting one.

been itching to start working on mine to get out on the water…hopefully warms up soon.

GO!

I have seen NYSPEED meets. They are most definitely full of “HOES”.

I like boats.

I like boats, hoes and Jam. Great start to a thread

Mine just needs a new temp gauge and she’s ready to go for another season. Already troubleshot it to the gauge itself so just need to order a replacement. I figure the break between winter hobbies and summer hobbies should give me time to get some work done on the house I’ve been putting off too long.

I can’t wait to figure out wake boarding. I think I need to lean back more. I got about 10 videos of me faceplanting.

Mine is the yellow one. Blue is my friend’s boat.

crappy picture of my buddy gettin some air behind my boat:

Alrighty…

my 21 year old pile, but I still like it. Slow as balls, doesn’t really turn or stop well, but a shit ton of room to walk around and party

Probably getting out of the big honker at some point this year, and stepping down to a much smaller, but still ridiculously roomy “deckboat”.

Demo’d one last August just for curiosity’s sake, and was really impressed with…well, everything about it. Easy to tow, plenty of space, plenty of power, it turns, it stops and has a great factory sound system. Oh yeah, and it won’t cost us $150 to go from the bottom of Canandaigua lake, to the top and back again.

Demo day

bayliner, ewww

Same thing I used to think, up until I had a really good look at this. Here’s my deal. I’m not willing to spend more than 30k on a boat. During most of our outings, we’re with a bunch of people. I also hate traditional pontoon boats. I also don’t want to go more than 2-3 years old. Leaves me with very few options. The stuff they’ve been putting out over the last 5 years has been pretty decent.

Yup, same thing happened to me a couple years back when I tried. My buddies do flips/spins and what not then there is me lol. It can’t be THAT difficult.

I’ve not spent much time around any of their recent stuff, but I doubt I could get over their past. They’ve been building some crappy boats for a long time.

Im looking forward to getting this in the water

If the boat it setup to your skill level, there isn’t any reason why you can’t learn.

If you’re behind a v-drive or direct drive ski or wakeboard boat, I would recommend a speed around 20-21mph and a rope length of 60 feet. Dump the ballast if the wake won’t clean up, then have at it. If you’re behind an inboard/outboard, you should shoot for the same speed, but you might have to adjust your rope length to get into the sweet spot on the wake.

Also, the following video should help

It’s not pretty, but it’s plenty.

I keep going back and forth between a deck boat or a pontoon boat to use as a ferry to get people back and forth to the island. I can’t wait for the ice to break up.

That would be a touch decision where your place is. I’ve been all over there in every kind of boat you could imagine. I think in your exact situation, I would do pontoon. Those are nice to have anchored on the sandbar also.

We’ve been leaning towards a pontoon. I think it might work better as a barge for moving building materials too. The advantage to the deck boat is that it would handle the big lake a little better. I’m hoping my in-laws decide to buy a boat, so I don’t need to make a decision, lol.

hey anyone want to buy a catamaran yet?!

Heh, same thing that went through my mind. I’ve ventured through the channel more than once in an old 17-18’ boat, and got caught in some scary chop in my young and stupid days.
