gotcha. the ss and sidewinders are virtually the same boat, no idea who splashed whos hull though.
my boat is the same splash hull as some tahiti’s and koni’s.
does he know what impeller is in the pump? they have charts for impeller selection, but if it were me i would give jetboat performance or someone a call on picking out the right one. atleast thats what i plan to do for mine with cam and impeller selection to match the rest of my motor.

do it! theyre more common out your way arent they?
which is why i bought one that has a hull designed to handle rougher water better than some other ones out there. when i rode in my friends boat i did decide two things, i wanted one that could fit 4-5 people instead of 2-3, and i wanted one that could handle a little more chop. it is a shallow hull design, but not that shallow. besides, i dont have any interest in going out on the big lakes. the majority of my time will be spent on the river and at keuka lake.
big block + small boat + rooster tails > rough water capabilities.
im a horsepower and speed junky, what do you expect?

I’m planning on attending this, looks like a great way to learn some shit. My boat project has been put on hold for a while, but with the weather breaking soon I’m ready to get back to work…really hoping I can see some water this year!
For anyone who is restoring their boat, I have a great insurance policy that I can offer to you. It will insure your boat during restoration and pending a survey done upon completion, it will raise your limits to full value. It really is a great way to make sure you are covered properly in the event of a covered loss.
vintage boat restoration workshop was pretty good. mostly on wood boats, but they will be having a few for fiberglass boats soon
does anyone know of any old junk pontoon boats? looking for an aluminum pontoon that i can cut in half and weld on a cap to make a new floating dock at the cottage…thanks.
Not a great pic but here’s my 1991 Baja 190DSR, we picked this boat up last spring and used the hell out of it all last season. I love this boat, reliable, pretty quick, and turns heads. The boat is in incredible shape and no one believes it’s 20+ years old
I have enjoyed it. I found it in my grandpa’s basement and he gave it to me. Previously I think it was used as a rescue boat on one of his larger boats. It has to be at least 20/30+ years old.
I just like the fact I can roll it up throw it in the trunk and be floating in 20 mins or so. I usually use an electronic trolling motor but I have thrown an 8 hp motor on it which moved very well. It is rated to 9.9.
Started getting the ole banana boat ready for the summer time this weekend. Got the bottom cleaned off with toilet bowl cleaner (80% Hydrochloric Acid), boy is that stuff nasty, but it took off a few years of grime from the previous owner.
Also put the engine coolant drain plugs back in. One started to leak, and when I tightened it with a wrench, the entire coolant distribution device cracked. Awesome, $150 later and a new one is on the way. No idea why it was so brittle, my only hunch is that some water froze in the bottom of the device. Oh well, hopefully it gets here before the weekend, I was hoping to shake the boat down on the water Sunday.
went to keuka lake yesterday to get the docks in at my uncles cottage…
got 4 sections of dock in, 3 more to go. also got the one sling hoist in and his fishing boat in. still have to get the floating dock in, jetski lift in the other boat hoist and the pontoon boat and both jetskis in…dude pretty much has his own marina there lol…
took a picture before we started from where the permanent dock will be put in later this summer…not many people out. water is currently 46 degrees. i personally know this from falling over with my waiters on and they filled up with water…so much for staying dry. ha.
A Washington, DC Police boat was making a simple U-turn on the Potomac River near the historic Georgetown neighborhood when it gunned the engine and slammed into two boats, partially sinking one. Thankfully, no one was injured. What the hell were they thinking?
