that’s the thing, the nanny state. i’m not saying WA is perfect, but hell, we have public mountain bike trails that have all sorts of huge jumps, ladders etc that u could easily fuck yourself up on. in NYS, it would be illegal because of “liability” reasons.
We have tons of public land, both state and federal, where we can go do as we please (as long as we are being good environmental stewards e.g. not leaving trash everywhere)
We do have inner city people try to ruin it for the rest of the state (I’m lookin at you Seattle) but most of our citizens are willing to stand up to Goliath to protect our recreation areas.
New York’s politics and welfare situation suck. I’ll give you that. You can flush NYC. BUT the rest of the state, is quite nice. Much worse out there, for living in.
I saw a guy riding tonight on my way home which made me think there was a foot of snow like in Springville. Once I got out of my vehicle I realized the guy was riding on a dusting. LOL
Oh shit, snow’s here and trails are opening around the state so I better get going. Bought a 2010 Rush off my homeboi @Shockwave179 with some assembly required. Tore into it yesterday.
The rain killed off alot that we had in Genesee County. I went for a rip yesterday. We went from 12 inches to about 5-6. The fields still have tons of wet spots. Not looking good.
Already been out 8 times this year, and our winter hasn’t “officially” started. We’ve been getting dumped on, and usually we don’t get amazing riding until January. Needless to say, the only reason I haven’t rode more is needed a few days to rest before I get back out!
Side note, some of the stuff east of Rochester opened up last night like Williamson and Lakeshore but I don’t see them staying open long with the warm up on it’s way. Hopefully we go back to the cold pattern soon.
