24hr of LeMons!!!

For a weekend of wheel to wheel racing?? Heck yeah.

The biggest expense is usually the cage and trailer/towing costs. With a few benevolent PS members those can drop significantly from retail prices.

A friend of mine did one and GRM (the magazine) bought some of his photos from him helping to recoup some of the costs.

Perhaps we can organize that and compile our multi-media and just donate the funds back into the project.

Something like that could possibly be started, but im not the kinda person to start it

Is this idea still alive?

I think it’s as alive as someone wants it to be. Seems like a fair number of people would be down for putting in work, but before anything else we need:

(1) Someone willing to coordinate the show, and admit that’s not going to be a small job

Then:

(2) Drivers that have gear and/or will buy gear and pay the driver fee
(3) A car that someone hates enough to give away or see get destroyed
(4) The money for the cage and/or enough benevolence from this board to ACTUALLY complete the car

I officially own FlareSide’s CRX… so we gots that covered

this is the best worst idea ever

if theres intrest id be seriously interested in helping out/driving or what ever is needed

Haha, I completely agree. A friend did this in CA, and they had a blast.

I’m all in for lending a hand, and helping in any way I can… I just know that i won’t be able to fork out the money for the safety gear to drive…

I really dont know how much I can help… I’m so busy keeping stuff going at the shop, this kinda side project seems a little unreachable. If we get enough people though, I’ll do whatever to help. I can get pics of the crx later and see what everyone thinks.

I’d be up for it, and we could use my Civic Wagovan…

Turbo Wagovan FTW

this has been tossed around work. i may be part of a team.

Not trying to discourage anyone in anyway, since shit does happen in racing. But this does suck to see something like this happen at such a fun event :frowning:

I’m more than comfortable dying in a racecar…

I don’t think you’re any more likely to die in LeMons than you are during a winter commute in Pittsburgh.

There is lots of speculation regarding possible health issues with the driver of that Volvo 242. Either way, RIP and the best of wishes to the family/friends.

It goes without saying that there is RISK involved with autosports, and we take them.

10-4

Safety equipment being properly installed in the vehicle and used during racing is very important as well.

When asked about dying, I have quoted auto-racing as one of my preferred ends.
