After some more intensive research, I’ve found out more info.
VVT-i motorsets are more plug and play, LESS wiring and more power.
BEFORE, there wasn’t enough aftermarket support for CAMs etc but now BC does make VVT-i cams and people have learned more about the VVT-i motors.

(look at the post date of 07’, now its almost 2010) A lot more info on VVT-i motors now.
i did say in a earlier post
“the 98+ jz motors with vvti will only benefit you if you got a 98+ gs300 as the wiring is more compatible.if you got an older gs STAY AWAY from it.”
