Can’t wait to get this bad boy in, Finally picked up a built Diff with 3.90 gears for my Vette I have been on the 3.42s for a while and all though I have lots of power I was getting tired of feeling how hard all my buddies cars with 4.10s pulled down low and still pulling extremely hard in 3rd and 4th gear. I think these 3.90s will complete my build and really give that sotp feeling I have been missing:tup:
390s rock! Enjoy zero traction in 1 and 2 lol.
Yea I would rather have to pedal the car a little than not be able to spin at all even in 1st because I bog so bad on the 3.42s down low in the rpm range trying to dig race is pointless, I run drag radials and they hold the car good I dont have any spinning issues now so I figure adding more gear will only make the car stronger.
I was more happy with 2k RPMs at 100MPH …
I think it’s at 90 or 80mph, I’d imagine all t-56s have the same gears, right?
Nope there are about 3-4 different 1-4 sets and another 2-3 different 5/6 sets.
2K at 100mph? What kind of mpg’s where you getting then? LoL
You guys think 3.90s will be to much gear for my 413whp? motor and 563whp on nitrous??? I do like knowing I can stab the throttle right now even in first on a low roll and not spin at all with my drag radials, you think 3.90s will make my car just blow the tires off all the time??? I know my car front and back but have no idea what kind of a change I will see at the power level my car is at I hear gears gears gears!!! all the way for mild bolt on Ls1 cars but what about cars around 500hp
It was more like 2100 in 6th doing 100. I was getting about 26MPG over all?
Hmm, from what I remember about my 2000 Trans Am At like 60mph I was around 1,400rpm and then at 90 or 80 I was at 2,000rpm. So if they have even taller 6th gear ratios then at 60mph you’d be super low which seems weird bc the speed limilt on the highways are mostly either 55 or 65, at least from ny to Florida I found it to be.
EDIT: vette have different t-56’s. Didn’t know C5’s have a mm6 and C5z’s have a m12.
