That dude BETTER be in prison for 3 counts of vehicular manslaughter and 6 counts of aggravated assault. Pay attention to the flippin road. I’m guilty of ‘multi-tasking’, but the first task on my mind is always driving if I’m in an area or situation where I need to think or pay attention (ex: traffic lights and traffic as opposed to open highway).

driving in this country is taken wayyy to lightly.
Not only that but driver education. They should have annual driving exams every 10 years or something. Especially if you are of retirement age. I’ve seen old people go against traffic (Washington Ave. Ext. - WTF?)
- It would help the states income levels/economy by making everyone pay $80 or so for a re-examination every whatever number of years.
- It would weed out the idiots on the road at least a little bit.
I don’t typically agree with anything that you say here, but this is one thing I agree with you on.
I 100% agree in having an expiration on your license that can only be renewed with taking a continuing education type class/course and passing a test.
In conjunction with that I believe that, in order to make it even safer, initial testing for first time drivers should be much more than a simple road test.
Absolutely. I’ve taken 3 defensive driving classes in my 7 years on the road and I can honestly say I’m a much better driver than I was before I took them. You notice things you wouldn’t normally notice. Like, for example, a twitchy driver automatically puts me into caution mode and I can usually tell if they are going to merge into my lane before they actually do it.
they guy must have been looking out the window or something. People just dont look far enough down the road when they drive. a good 1/8th mile or more, I am already looking at the lights, is it green? will it stay green? is it fuckign red? I am allways the first one to start slowing down, and the last one to come to a slow and complete stop. I love it when the morons next to me are flying by me as I am slowing down, jamb on the brakes and come to a hard stop, and I just ease my way to a nice slow controlled stop next to them and look at them like “WTF did you not see this stop coming?”

HOLY SHIT! i dont even know what to say. thats horrible how can you not be see 8 motocycles, a truck and a suv stopped at a redlight?!?!?

I also drive on high alert when bikers are around. I give them space, don’t tail gate. Some people drive like morons when they are around, real inconsiderate.
Going on the cruise with the section 518 guys last year in my Supra, there had to of been 300 bikes surrounding me and I was the only car LOL. It was the craziest shit I ever saw. Experienced driver could have killed someone.
I read something earlier today that said he had made comments to spectators that he was looking through some papers of some sort.
I just really hope that those who were pinned under the truck were killed in the accident and didnt burn to death.

The least you can do to protect yourself is ATGATT and ride defensively when among traffic. Yes, no amount of defensive riding will save you from getting plow form behind by a dump truck. Keep your bike in gear at stop light and triple check your mirrors may just buy you enough time to may be dash a few feet away to avoid being clipped.
Given how poorly people pay attention to the road and how many people don’t bother to spend 0.5s to shoulder check before changing lanes; things can and do happens.
I almost got clipped by a car at wash-x a few days ago, we are both making a left hand turn on to wash-x and the guy on my left decided he like my lane more in the middle of the turn and almost run me over.
annnnnnnnnd that’s why I dont want a bike. If I don’t kill myself, someone else will.

A lot of trackday riders and racers actully only do all their riding exclusively on the track for that reason.
