03 Cobras can actually hold their own on the road course as well… that is what the car was actually built for I’m not afraid to go head to head against an M3 in the twisties. What little advantage you have in the turns… ill make up for it on the straightaways.
This may come as a shock, but my braking is also a tad bit superior
or we could just put up a 2000 Cobra-R against a 2003 CSL M3 and see who wins.
both are $55,000 and from the looks of it, the R will smack it every category
You brought this arguement up, with the wrong domestic car bub
I did not intend to start an argument. I was only responding to your ignorant statement regarding BMW drivers…I guess you missed my point. I’ve always appreciated Mustang Cobras and know they’re very capable cars…
well the euro version has cams in it that give in that much more HP
the cams are very aggressive and give great $ to pwr ratio
and the m3 from the eurostyleseast…is pretty slow…he says it’s all top end like 120mph + but I somehow highly doubt it being that much faster than most people on here with healthy motors
If you talking about the e46 M3 (2001-?), then the U.S. version is basically the same as the Euro version. The only difference is location of the headers…the U.S. version has the cats on the manifold while the Euro version has them located farther down in the midpipe area…The Euro version is rated at 343 DIN HP while the U.S. version is 333 SAE HP…which, after the conversion, is only about 5 HP difference.
…Not sure what you mean by pretty slow…a stock e46 M3 is capable of running 12.7 sec quarter mile and a 4.5 sec 0-60 with a good driver and conditions…It will also top out at 170+ mph…is it going to beat a domestic V8 muscle car with a lot of mods…hell no! …but it doesn’t do too bad for only having a naturally aspirated 3.2L Inline 6 engine.
ok…I should have clarified…I was refering to the E36M3’s not the E46…I know the E46 is strong and a very nice car…I would like to race one actually… :drama:
I’ve seen that run before posted on the Mach 1 forums. They were not stock tires on the vehicle. He was running BFG DRs, nor was the exhaust and intake stock
According to Lee (in the 12.63 video), he ran stock Contisports…and the only mod was pulleys…nothing else…stock intake, exhaust, etc. He said he avoids drag radials because it’s too hard to launch w/ the M3 - too much wheel hop.
With regards to the video you saw on the Mach 1 forums…you’re probably thinking of the video where a Mach 1 is in the other lane…
…Lee is only running pulleys, Eurobahn software and has SSR Comps w/ street tires. He also stripped a little weight out of the car…still has the stock exhaust and intake. From my understanding, the Mach 1 also has a few mods.
I love F1 but NASCAR has been growing on me over the last couple of years…I’ve been to a few Daytona 500s and the races are pretty exciting…so many more lead changes than F1…but there’s still nothing like hearing a F1 car at the track - they sound absolutely amazing and they are soooooo loud! I’ve been to CART races and NASCAR but the F1 car was the only one that physically hurt my ears…19000+ rpms will do that.
