Yeah, 300zx club doesn’t allow cross posting images. But once cashed they’ll show up on your computer, just no one else’s.
you also cant see the link unless you’re a member lol
Sonofabitch. Let’s see if I can just put this to rest. Why does the internet have to be so difficult.
Here’s what he had up for sale. New set with new tires. Great deal. (Probably why he sold them already and didn’t bother to update his post) In any event, they were Stern “Beast” wheels. Never heard of them and wondered if anyone else had. They actually look pretty meaty.
This was one of my other considerations. Enkei Raijin’s. If I didn’t mention it, I missed my opportunity on the RPF01’s and these are also a possibility on the menu.
I don’t hate those Enkeis.
Ended up buying the Enkei Raijin’s in 18 x 9.5 (+35) off ebay for about $ 1,100.00. Should see them by weeks end. Now just need to add the rubber. Would like to go with the Hankook RS-3’s or the Dunlop Direzza Z2’s. Thanks for all your input. Hope to see you guys out there.
Is the +35 offset gonna clear your calipers without any spacers?
Fronts are already +34 so I see no current issues.
Thanks to 02NismospecV for dropping off some goodies yesterday. My Raijins came in but I missed the delivery so I decided to test fit the RPF1’s while my hands were dirty. I may go with the RPF1’s after all. Fitment seems good. Guess we’ll see.
I run the federal Evo 595 and i love them, $350 shipped to my door.
Oh and they do run one size larger if anyone is looking to order them…
Spoke design seemed more important than offset on my z…had the right offset but the large front caliper just touched due to an aggressively curved spoke to the hub.
I would say that it clears with the same spacing as my Volk’s. It’s close, but it makes it.
Glad they fit! get some tires on there now!
I’m currently putting together a list of tires from about 4-5 different websites based on a couple different factors including cost and shipping. Hope to have some sort of decision made here in the next week or so. Thanks again.
OK, this just got worse instead of better. I was able to catch the UPS guy and snag the wheels I ordered that I missed on Friday. Decided to sneak down to the shop to check fitment, clearances, etc. Low and behold, I friggin like these “track” wheels better than the Volks I have been running that came with the car and was trying to save from the track.
I had always said the wheels that came on this car were the shit and I’d never seen any other wheel I liked quite as much. I was wrong. Something about the silver grey tone of these just makes them look like they melt into the color of the car.
The new Enkei’s fit pretty well in the back. The fronts are another story. Since they are a 9.5" (up from a 9.0") they stick out quite a bit more. The rears aren’t quite so pronounced as I went down in width (10.0" to a 9.5") so they are almost the same as the Volk’s. The fronts clear the upper control arm and the brake calipers, but I’m not so sure about the fender. In my mind I was thinking a non-staggered track setup would be the most logical way to go. 9.5" seemed like a good compromise with the original 10’s and 9’s.
I might just send the whole set back and order another set of the Raijins in the same width and offset, since I know that already works. As much as I was against it, I may just end up running the Volks in their current setup with street rubber as that is what I was really going for in the first place, just with a little less cost risk involved. First world problems.
i don’t know what your volks look like, but i really like the new wheels
i can’t tell if you have the front wheel pushed up or not in that last picture, but the camber should fix that. you’re obv not going to be able to run a 285 or something up front lol. i would test it on the track first, or maybe you know already. but if you’re front end doesn’t push out too bad hard cornering i wouldn’t worry about a sq setup
it may even make you slower because of the extra tire. who knows
Running 255’s up front now and 285 in the rear so I thought 265 would be a good compromise. Volks I’m currently running:

Raijin’s look tight. I’d run those!
How much do they weigh compared to the volks/rpf1’s
are the offsets any different than your volks for the front? just the width changed?
In my opinion, without a scale, very damn close.
Shoulda done this originally. Here ya go:
Volks
Rear 18 x 10 (+42)
Front 18 x 9 (+34)
Enkei’s
Rear and Front
18 x 9.5 (+35)

OK, here’s my next brainstorm. If I go with the Proxes 888 street / track tire, I can run them on the Enkei’s on the street for awhile. When the street tires burn off the Volks with some track practice, I can swap the R888’s to the Volks for a “less than novice” tire when I’m ready to move up from rookie grade. I should be able to walk into the R888’s for $ 1300 delivered. Thoughts?
Yeah those new wheels look great in that color with your color car
