331 Stroker

I am looking into doing a 331 Stroker motor this winter. I did not want to go with a 347 b/c the walls are to thin for the pistons. a 331 would leave me room to super charge it. I want to know what you guys think. or should i look into other combos for the stang.

Ls1

  • f-body= winning combination

Thats the engine Dappie99 has

331 is all around good motor. it has alot of hp and torque. the 347 isnt all that bad really. you say walls are to thin. your only boring the block out ot .030 to .040 depending on how bad your block is now. the problem with 347s are the oiling of them and they are just plain out torque motors. you get the cubes of 347 by the crank and the stroke. 331 are cheaper to build just for hte fact of you dont need to notch the block for clearence like you have to do with a 347. whatever you choose make sure you get the main girdle and if you plan on boosting get forged pistons

ive heard bad things about 347’s and boost.

there is a lincoln mark VII with either a 347 or 349 and running a blower. the car is somewhere in the 10s, car has been together for some time now

Its supposed to be putting a 1000HP to the ground :bsflag: :bsflag:

according to Jeeves

that is what bill said

331 for boost

but i always love the 306 with a shitload of spray combo

If thats the case he should be running faster than 10’s, 1000hp makes up for a lot of things- like loss ot traction-doubt that, that car leaves pretty good…

348 > 331 :kekegay:

408 = broke

331 actually produces more horesepower than a 347 b/c of a lighter more freely moving rotating assembly just the 347 has more tourque down low
