Not what they say on the forum. You have to girdle the block, and they’re expensive. They’re not as strong as the series II engines. There are fast ones for sure, but there are many improvements in the newer series engines.

The 3800 series II /III are much better. The engines from the FWD to RWD are the same, just different trans and accessories. Matter of fact you can use a NA 3800 with a sc top end, the newer L32 has a gen 5 m90.

I have a nice running 3800 tpi engine still in a car if anyone is interested. Motor and tranny are nice just underneath is very bad and rusty. 500 for whole car . interior is pretty much perfect too ad it’s lower mileage. 90 or 91 regal I believe

I found a brand new forged 3800 with cam and ported heads for less then $1000
The M90 is cheap, and so it a little nitrous.
I poured JB weld into the beast last week, didn’t seem to help.
She had WAY more then 0 wins. She had at least 25 Mustang TKOs.
LoL She might be together in a couple months who knows. My number one priority right now is getting my 2" primary Kooks and Fast on the Vette. Then new dyno with a 200 shot.
Any dyno numbers when this was running?
What did AFR look like?
good job
AFR was good 11.8 ish most of the time. No dyno numbers but it was quick for sure. Ran on par with a full bolt on LS1 6 speed car or say a 5.0 with exhaust and tune.
What cam is in the forged block? If I was gonna do another s/c build it would be stock bottom, gen v, intercooler, xpz cam, ported head, headers, 400whp… Or turbo, cam, heads, 500+whp
