i saw one at best buy yesterday and seems neat but i wouldnt really want to wear glasses all the time to watch something in 3d plus the “starter kit” is $350 which comes with 2 pairs of glasses and a movie, seems a little absurd to me.
do you guys think this is really going to take off?
It will take off. Plus, the TVs will have both a 2D and 3D mode - a lot of the population is unable to see in 3D and they aren’t in the business of alienating customers. I’d probably wait for the second-gen units to hit before I bought one.
There was some study done saying that watching 3D movies and TV really messes with your brain. I guess to achieve the effect, it really messes with your eyes and how the brain produces the image.
I guess if you are older its not that big of deal but someone who has kids should be concerned about over exposure to it.
Meh…I don’t think it will replace current TVs, It will be the “wii” of TVs. It will be for for a bunch of people to chill out and watch, but other than that it really serves no purpose.
it’s still a young technology and I agree that’s it causes eye stress currently, I experienced it during avatar also.
it will get better in many ways and will be something we’ll all have probably 5-10 years from now… it’s just immature still, those calling it a fad will be picarding themselves when I bump this in a decade.
Sync your 3d glasses? If you can’t accomplish the task of hooking up your bluray player or syncing your glasses, you need to really consider the reason you are buying a 3D tv. Lol.
