fuck

I know a guy who had APR Stage 3 on a 1.8T mkIV Jetta and he couldn’t break into the 13’s…

Mark Bradford ran a 12.8 @ 105 in his Stage 3 B5A4, it has not blown up to this date. Not bad for a fat pig grocery getter that’s not a purpose built race car.

While we are playing this game, has anyone run 10s in their STi? If not, Ricks stock $9000 Stock R1 > this.

ehh. my oil seal blew? i think it was actually a warranty issue with the turbo, because i had plenty of line pressure and was water cooled and i didn’t put too many miles on it, but i never looked into it because i had purchased it for another project years prior. After looking at everything upon teardown, everything seemed A OK.

sti > R1 in the snow, and rain and any day that its not nice out

newmans stock sti for 30k

or

for way less.

but i do love the sti.

Looks like the best et on a straight stg 3 A4 is 12.77.

I’ve seen some FWD stg 3 VW times at 12.07.

Oh christ, come on this is getting ridiculous.

How is a stock STi not a grocery getter? It’s a 4 door family sedan.
And yeah people have run 9’s in STis, but that’s not the point. We all know the STi is a much better platform if you want to go fast. Stock STi’s with reflashes run 12s.

My point is after all this money, how fast will the VAG car be?

Are those 12 second slips on normal street tires or drag radials or drag slicks?

No, the “I built it, it did this, but then I redid the setup, then this broke, then I changed this, then I stopped working on the car” which is exactly what I was talking about the entire thread when I said it’s never as easy as saying you built a supercar for $2000. There’s always something. It always costs more, and why some people don’t want to spend their entire time building a project when you can just drive and enjoy :cough:FDjonez:cough:

It’s a purpose built rally race car. The A4 was purpose built too… to get kids to soccer practice.

No one buys an A4 with the intent of having the fastest car out there. If they do, they are an idiot. Then again, there are better platforms than the STi if you want to do the same thing too…

I don’t see the “all this money” It’s $4500 and a weekend install. Laughable compared to what some people on this board have into cars that don’t run all season.

That makes sense, but I’ve already shown a bolt on kit that is thousands less…

now this hasn’t turned into anything about the turbo kit.

its about whos stock car is faster.

WHO CARES.

I like newmans sti…i love it.

but to me, a quick 14’s LUXURY AWD car, with a nice aftermarket FREE turbo kit, some nice rims, and all around high quality parts, with a great paintjob is better than a stock sti.

but thats just me.

yea, i was just being a dick

Im assuming since its quattro that its street tires. Only some sick s4’s with 500whp+ are having AWD traction issues.

and my WRX was faster than and STI for less Blah, blah, blah…

Off topic like whoa, there is no topic anymore

X…

i think the car will be on the street in the spring.
i really do.

in any case. it’s more due to my personality than the platform. If i had the audi with the stage 3+, i would want the stage 4. or 5.
alot of people would have been really happy with a 2500lb car with 400+ rwhp.

that’s not how i roll tho. at the time, it was more about the project than the car anyway.
